Ooooh that is grim. I loved the shellac polish, had it done a couple of times, but although I used what I thought was a lot of cuticle oil, my nails were a mess afterwards, so I just look longingly at the lovely shellac on others now:(The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Anyone else joining me...?
Not joining you on this one, when we moved house 14 months ago I was shocked at how much stuff I had, so have been working through it, a little way to go though!!!The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

I have another UU this morning Boots Essentials Cucumber cleansing wipes. WNBA. I used to buy wipes for holidays for the convenience factor of not needing to take cotton pads to use with liquid cleanser.
Recently I worked out that Lush shampoo tins were the perfect shape and size for a weeks worth of cotton pads, so am taking those and one of the many sample sized bottles of cleaner when I travel instead.
One IN to report. I bought some aromatherapy oils & blends to try to help with the alopecia I've developed and the poor sleep (though that seems to have improved a little this week) and got a free bath product a Quinessence Luxury Bath Soak for Muscles and Joints.
I'm going to increase the amount of exercise I do this year, so this should come in handy. I need to be a bit more careful with my money with all the work I need to do on my house now my fiance and I have split and he won't be doing it, so I can't afford to go for the number of massages I did last year. Hopefully this will help to reduce the knots.
Been starting to wear make up more this year but not in danger of using anything much up aside of maybe foundation. Should probably go through my mascaras and have a bit of a clear out though - some are a little elderly.
How long do you keep your mascaras for? Advice seems to be to ditch after a few months but I tend to keep mine longer and have never had any problems.
And does anyone have a recommendation of a good brown waterproof mascara? I tend to use Max Factor or Boots No 7 as a lot of premium brands didn't offer a waterproof brown last time I checked. Think Lancome discontinued theirs, which was my favourite for years.
I tend to use mine until they dry up or go messy, except when I have had eye infections, then I throw and just use the GWP sizes, which I tend to buy now and then from *bay. I have been using a No 7 Waterproof as the SA thought it would be the best for sensitivity, not mad keen though, just use it when the weather goes very cold as I have runny eyes. ATM in love with my Lancome Hypnose (not waterproof). My HG (again not waterproof) is the YSL Faux Cils, but so expensive, I got the Lancome on a Xmas promtion with an extra 15% off too.
Another TA, an Avon lippie, seems to have gone a bit dry - not surprising as it's half used and I have not bought Avon for at least 8 years:rotfl:The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

I get the Jessica Gel colours done every month, didn't have a problem at all for the 1st year, then they started breaking, then last year I kept finding cracks/splits where the nail and finger join, one month it got so bad had to cut them all short and stopped getting them done for a couple of months. I think I'm going to stop them all together this year (except for Hols and christmas), but the girl I go to for nails and eyebrows has a habit of automatically booking me in. I need to be brave and say eye brows only from now on. Infact I'm booked in to get them done again next week as didn't have courage to say no during christmas appointment.0 -

I'm trying to wear make up more often this year as well (getting to the point where I need the extra help, or am I already pasted that point?) Unfortunatley due to having a cold and being so slow getting ready for work on a morning so far this year I only managed to wear make up on saturday and sunday.
Re Mascara, I bin mine after 6 months or if I get and eye infection.0 -

I used to go to a Jessica salon, my treat when I was working was a mani every month, pedi about every 3 and a facial, eyebrows and lash tint as and when. I have had some horrific allergy problems on my face (not connected) so I don't dare do the lash tint now, but I do miss it as my lashes are so fair. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Unfortunately I think I've stopped enjoying it now due to nail splits etc, If I reduce down to just eyebrows every month (rubbish at doing them myself) and nails a few times a year I should save myself a fortune. I just need to be able to say no when I come to booking next appointment.
Plus I have nail varnishes at home that need using up.
ETA: one nail snapped yesterday and had to be filed down as was left with a sharp point, and 2 have splits in them (one is split quite big).0 -
A couple more UU to report
- Soft and Gentle Rose and Vanilla deodorant. It's ok but I think for the winter months I'd rather just use my Weleda Rose deodorant and then in the heat of summer (if we get one!) use the Mitchum 48 hour one which is stronger.
- REN Hydra Calm Youth Defense Serum - WMBA. It feels more like a lotion than a serum so feels odd to put another cream over the top, though my skin does need it. However, my skin does feel nice and soft at the moment so maybe it's doing me good. I have a couple more serums in my stash (different ones) so will see how I get on with those.
I had to dash to Boots today to stock up on Immodium and was pleased with myself as I used my Boots points to pay. Usually I save them for a treat. I have a house full of unused treats and a lot of expenses this month, so figured using the points for something I need now, rather than something I want in later months would be sensible. Might use the remaining points to replace my old mascara and this time put a little label on it noting when I bought so I know when to TA.0 -

I TA based on date opened rather than date bought, I keep a note of the dates on my spreadsheet.0 -
