Thank you bonnie :) In my head I'm giving them til the weekend, I'm not telling them that though, then I will be bagging it all up

I'm getting more and more cheesed off as the evening goes  can't get certain stuff done cos I need a second person but of course noones here!!
Then I get my mum texting, moaning about my dad (not unsual and quite understandable) and about how carp her Christmas was, we were with them Boxing Day!
I tell her about my carp time, CSA not being paid in, doctors, unhelpful kids etc and that soon shut her up, and yes I know that sounds rough but I couldn't help it :(
Now DD1 texts can I pick her up!!:mad: She was meant to be home yesterday! So she can think again!!

Sorry rant over :o I have done 3 loads in the WM & TD, put my washing away and loaded the DW :)

Level 1 only for me today. Was really dreading work today as colleague at work had huge shouting session at me and another colleague before Christmas as someone had told the manager they didn't pull their weight (not guilty - think it was a colleague who left's parting shot). Didn't sleep well last night and consequently got into work at 7.20, 10 minutes before the security gate to the car park was opened .
We are supposed to work as a team which is pretty hard when I am being ignored. My friend (the other person being shouted at) was off today for a funeral so hoping tomorrow will be better when she is back. It is just so petty real playground stuff but really making me feel under the weather.
Sorry enough moaning, tomorrow is another day. More flying needed tomorrow to make sure house is ok for DD's 3 Uni friends who are coming to stay Fri-Mon.
DD and DS were excellent and washed up after tea and DD has done WM and TD x1, so not all bad :T

Jenagain, welcome, baby steps and we are here for all those moments when you feel overwhelmed.

Tooch you can use regular malt vinegar for descalling but don't use pickling in the kettle (from experience you can taste the spices in the tea for weeks)

Pleased with today's flying. Need to try to keep it up tomorrow between various other things.

  • Oh dear not much done! Kitchen was worse than I thought -

    pots and pans scrubbed
    Dishwasher emptied and reloaded
    Work tops wiped
    Fridge emptied

House still a tip! But wrecked and need to go to bed

Skinty good luck - hope all goes well, and that MiL doesn't cause too much havoc. I have to say, I sympathise with the young Skints, having myself been made very ill through eating roast spuds I didn't know had been cooked in goose fat. Hoping the green thread does the trick. Oh, and pardon me if I speak out of turn, but if I was working in someone else's kitchen, I'd be extremely careful to put everything back exactly as I found it. This is something I'm totally OCD about in my own kitchen, so it raised my blood pressure slightly to read that MiL would rearrange your kitchen if you weren't careful.
    :

LW DD2 and DD3 always know when food has been compromised ..... its easier for me to put it in the fridge for me and DS later, and cook something from scratch and confess, even if they have to wait longer for something to eat

and I cheated on the spoons....I found my rubber band pouch - Green bands for veggie spoons and Red bands for meat-y spoons

I didn't have time to put labels inside cupboards, so I took her on a guided tour off all the kitchen cupboards, all my cleaning trugs, and the new layout of all the kids rooms.....I explained that I have spent 3 months of my life force when I should have been resting putting all these protocols in place, and while I don't expect her to memorise where everything goes, if she follows the mantra Don't put it down, put it away then she only has to "remember" for seconds or minutes one thing at a time....and if she really can't remember as opposed to can't be *rsed then ask DD2 or DD3 or even DS, as they will know

I did put a label on the hoover with the broken fan belt - saying "Do Not Use" cos although it sounds like its working without a fan belt turning the motor will burn out.

I have come back from holiday before to find that half a trolley load of "whoopsied" stuff had been taken out of the freezer and binned because it was "out of date":mad::mad:

All I need is a responsible adult in the house at all times for the kids sake, but sometimes I feel a burglar might cause less destruction :rotfl:

But if I didn't laugh, I would cry, so I have tongue in cheek told the kids to "Grass Nanny up" and text me in hospital if she starts re-organising my cupboards or chucking stuff out of the freezer....or the cardinal sin - washing my smalls (or not so smalls as they are currently) and rifling through my drawers:mad:

Going to have a bit more of a lurk with this cuppa that is going cold, then I will see what I can actually cross off for the day
The cold never bothered me anyway

1 step closer - sending wagon-loads of vibes to you for tomorrow xx
dorajar - no-one should be subjected to being shouted at in the workplace  sending calming/get stuffed you nasty person vibes to administer as you see fit xx
witchy - I think you should tell DDs your time limit and what you want done by when, then everyone knows where they are and there will be no misunderstandings xx

I've done more tidying. So fed up of "it's not mine so I left it there" mentality. I can see me using lots of black sacks this week... mwa haha... that'll teach 'em.

LW if she follows the mantra Don't put it down, put it away then she only has to "remember" for seconds or minutes one thing at a time

I just love that and have found it so motivating and helpful; I don't remember it every time I drop something on the floor, but it's getting to be more of a habit so thanks for that.

I hope she doesn't wreak too much havoc for you.
