  • So, including my coupon, I spent £16.02 on my weekly shop. I got plenty of veg...

    I will be making:

    Carrot and Sweet Potato Soup
    Leek and Potato Soup
Carrot, Sweet Potato, Red Onion, Courgette, and Potato Stew

My stews sometimes end up looking like soups as well! I bought some split peas to try and bulk my soups up a little. I'm not sure if I should have bought lentils instead but they were half the price so I went with split peas. Hopefully all of these should give me 12-15 meals. I usually go overboard with portion sizes when I'm putting things in the freezer so I'm being a bit strict with my portion sizes now.

Right, off to make a cup of tea :) x

  • Hi Black,

What a great result shopping wise :) and sounds like you'll be fairly busy over the weekend.

Enjoy your soak in the bath.

    Happy weekend x
  • Already the weekend is staying positive! So far it has cost me about 18 miles of travelling. I went to my friends last night, but came away with a box full of cakes so it's fair to say that last night was a win! I've been to the tip as well to take a TV that has been taking so much space up.

I've done a load of washing using half the recommended usage of washing powder/fabric softener.

On with the weekend! I might even make some felt love heart keyrings for Valentines Day :)

  • I've had one of the weeks again :( I've opened a bottle of Red and having a 'Me' night.

Work has been rubbish this week, my whole job involves sorting other peoples problems and coming up with solutions and helping people. But sometimes I'm sure they just don't want any help!! I might as well have been told to F Off this week, grr, so rude!!!

I asked a bloke at work if he wanted to start running with me, he wants to lose a couple of stone and I want to get fit so hopefully if I have a running buddy then I won't quit after a couple of times, plus it's a bit of competition :) he said he was thinking of buying a treadmill but I think I have convinced him to run outside instead of in one place!!

This week has been summed up in one word...'sigh'

Sorry for the moan again, managed to keep up with my regular savings though :)

  • Well, I've been busy! After trying to get back on track I have been neglecting the laptop!

It's amazing how much you can get done if you turn your telly off!

I'm wanting to get my house back to 'neutral' colours because I'm looking at moving in the next 12 months hopefully. But in order to get my deposit back I need to put everything back to how it was. I want to do it so it's still to my taste but still so my landlord would be happy if I left it like that too. So the de-cluttering continues and the packing will follow. I have a few tins of magnolia anyway so hopefully I won't be breaking the bank.

I looked at my finances and I'm on track, better than last month so far :)

I've been asked to babysit at the end of this month too, so I will earn a few quid there too. That should pay for a night out for a birthday coming up so I'm staying on track. Fingers crossed.

I tried to get some overtime this week but no such luck :(

Right, I suppose I should get in the shower and get sorted for the weekend. I meeting up with a friend later, at her house so it's free :) yay.

Oh and one last thing, managed to get a M&S voucher. Went last night to do my shopping, I am not posh enough to do my shopping there! I got looked down on throughout the shop :( Grr!

  • Morning,

Yay to having a running buddy :) I can't run for toffee so well done.

Decorating and decluttering....fancy doing mine when you've finished? lol

Ignore the people in M&S that think they're better than you...I used to love going in there after work looking as scruffy as hell and used to stick my tongue out at the ones that even looked at me in a disgusted way ;)

Seriously though, you've as much right as they do to shop there so Pah! to them :) xx
  • I've been rather quiet on here recently, I've turned my TV and laptop off in order to get a few jobs done around the house, but yesterday marked the end of Feb so I used my tracker...I am £143.02 better off this month :) woohoo!!!! That brings my efforts up to £242.76 better off so far this year :) yippeeeee :) So happy with myself :)
