Which Dyson to buy?

I second the Dyson 24! Love my Dyson.0

this is a money saving site , so save your cash and buy something decent for a fraction of the cost ,like a sebo or henry , these will outlast your dyson twice over , if you look at amazon user reviews , dysons don't even make the first page , don't believe the hype0

I don't want "Panasonic, Electrolux, Hoover or another decent brand" - but thank you for your input.
How much will you spend to buy your choice of Dyson model?
Our current vacuum cleaner is an almost new Electrolux that I got for £6 on Ebay about 4 years ago. Yes, that is six pounds, not a typo. It does a great job.0 -
And there I've been for the last 8 years thinking that the ethos of the site is to buy 'what you want' for the best price possible - the OP doesn't want a sebo or henry or a vax, they want a dyson ball and were asking opinions on which model.
i use a henry every day for my work , it takes a hammering andso far has lasted 5 years+ , and will probably last another 5 , this cost me around £80 .we had a 2nd generation dyson for home use which cost around £250 , it lasted less than 3 years , they are not well made , i would never buy another , they are over priced , over hyped and unreliable , so if the ethos for the site is to get what you want for the chepest price , then suggesting a far superior product for a cheaper price is something to be considered .
if the op wants a dyson then so be it0 -
My Dyson DC33 needs repairing, it's about 1 year old.
I have a Dyson DC35 which cost £0 from Sainsburys. No, not stolen. I got it for the car, but I use it for the house too. Not having to plug it in and drag a cord around is very liberating, and makes life much easier. Also not having to fiddle around with a long tube on a flexible hose is better.
The GTech AirRam is worth looking into. It only sweeps (no suction tools).Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -

So it'll be fixed for free under warranty-unless you have failed to clean the filters as required. What's the fault? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Right at this moment, I have a Henry, a Dyson and a Vax.
The Henry is used for heavy duty cleaning (especially after DIY), I wont use it everyday as I prefer an upright. The Vax isn't used at all as it's useless and the Dyson is used everyday.
Son bought a Vax from Argos 6 months ago (don't know model but was an upright and cost over £100), it was very noisy and blew up within a fortnight.
Dysons are like Marmite, you either love them or hate them.
I can strip my Dyson down and wash the parts in hot soapy water, I like the fact I can do this myself (with the right tools).
None of my Dysons have been ball models but my next one will be.
OP different people need different things, have you tried the comparison tool on the Dyson website to see what might be important for you?
Having said that, I think I would end up going with whichever one I could find on offer tbh.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I would make sure you try a Dyson Ball before you buy one.
They are the most awkward useless things ever invented.
Had Dysons for years but sent the Ball back !!!
But thats my opinion only !!0 -

The sweeper brush does not rotate. I have cleaned it out quite a few times, as bits do get stuck. It is about 18 months old, and I assume out of warranty.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0
