Can you use this on dry hair, or does it have to be newly washed damp hair? Does it take much longer than, say, blowdrying? And does it really add much volume? TIA!0

I rough dry my hair with hairdryer until almost dry, I then use this to finish off/style, gives loads of volume on my flat, fine hair and leaves it with a lovely shine. My last one has recently died on me so I have just ordered this one from Amazon
Also I use it on dry hair inbetween washes to give it a bit of oomph0 -
So, I thought after all the great reviews I would pop along to currys and buy one. Must admit I didn't have great expectations, but WOW, my hair is not my own!!! My regular hair is frizzy/curly or poker straight when I can be bothered to straighten - but this newfangled device has made my hair light and bouncy with no frizz. A miracle indeed for my hair.
Thanks for the recommendations!!
Fred..... you can now go to the Ball :j0 -
I'm another one to add my positive comments about this styler, i was bought one for Xmas and LOVE it so far!!! Finally i can get the volume in my hair that the hairdressers manage! Buy buy buy is my recommendation!!!0

I am totally swaying about buying this item. The reviews on this thread are great but on amazon lots of the reviews are really bad.
Aaaaah, dilemma. greed not need - step away from one click ordering!
Chances are I will give in and buy it but never use it. I have really thick coarse hair and get keratin treatments to make it manageable so would be looking to use this instead of straighteners and for getting the kinks out my hair when it has been tied back. Dilemma's dilemmas! If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
I've been weighing it up. One of my New Years resolutions not to just click and buy.
Feedback here alone is great. But lots more bad reviews on amazon than you'd expect. Plus googling it throws up other forums such as mumsnet where the feedback isn't great.0 -
You shall know me by my bouncy hair (I hope)
thank you OP!

The 'really bad' (i.e. one star) reviews on Amazon almost all relate to product failure - so the 3 year guarantee might give you a bit of reassurance on that front. The vast majority of people gave it 4 or 5 stars - 530 out of 621 - so it clearly has plenty of fans!0 -
I've had one of these for over a year and they really are great, gives a salon blow-dried look that I'd never be able to create without it. Highly recommended (I have shoulder-length straight hair)0

Would this work on waist length hair (wavy and lots of it too...)? I don't use anything atm, too lazy to spend so long straightening it (plus, I'm wary of damaging it). I'm very tempted...0
