Wow so many people declaring no spends! Well done!

I, on the other hand have £20.99 to add to my total as i've decided to keep some boots and shoes ordered ages ago. The boots are smart black knee-highs for work in winter and were 60% off in the sale :), the shoes are £7.99 toms-esque summer shoes so both investments for the coming seasons.

new total: £45.46/£120  No more spending allowed til May now!

I just had to come on and shout how I went around the shops in Glasgow yesterday and bought ZERO:j. I tried on several things and found a couple of dresses I liked but put them back when I thought about how many I already have in my wardrobe. And my OH was nagging me to get something.:D I am a changed woman

I LOVE my £1 Primarni knickers - they're perfect for me and have lasted me ages. Everytime I go in there (which isn't very often) I grab 5 or 6 pairs to stock up. Each to their own I guess. Don't get me wrong I'd love to buy the matching pants when I buy a new bra (and sometimes I do when I'm really pushing the boat out - for "special" occasions), but they're usually about £15 for one pair so just stick to basic black or white - easier for washing too!

I have to agree the lacy numbers have fallen apart on me in the past, but just the plain piece of material with no frills or lace I find are fine for everyday. :rotfl:

I don't think I even have a matching set any more, not that I had many to start with. The ones I bought aren't even fancy, and I actually had another two pairs that I'd bought in there where the edging and seams had holes in after one wash...which I did take back  I was going there anyway and whilst they prob thought I was a bit batty, i wouldn't just chuck £3 in the bin so why would i just chuck the pants away after one wash. Basically it was bad machine finishing, and I also figured that if no one raises an issue with quality, they will never know to rectify it.

That said, I've also had some really good pants from there over the years so it can just depend.

Everyone is doing amazingly well this year :T

After landing on my bum at work on a wet kitchen floor I spent £22.50 on a new pair of walking trainers, nice and grippy.
I have a dressing gown that's got two big holes in it, but I should be able to sew them back together.
My jeans, on the other hand, well I need some more. I counted 5 pairs - two don't fit since having DS (who's 6 this year) - I can't get rid of them as I will never again be able to spend £130 on one pair of jeans, two don't fit so I'm selling them, and one have no knees so they will be transformed magically into shorts. After looking at some new jeans in my trusty directory, I took a gamble and bought a pair off ebay. Fingers crossed they fit, it could be a false economy!

    Total for me....

    #12 £53.50/£300

NB I'm not counting the jeans purchase as it's from the proceeds of selling other clothes, so that's fair right?!

Just been catching up on the thread. Wow everyone has been doing really well! I have made quite a few purchases over the past month. Need to work out which ones I add to the budget because I have sold a lot of things on Ebay and had money for my birthday.

    To be continued.....

Hello everyone, I joined the 2012 thread with a budget of £100 and failed miserably. I can't even tell you how much I spent on clothes last year as I didn't even count but I can assure you it was over the budget.

But this year I am going to be more strict with myself. I have no weddings or holidays booked (oh except Paris in April but that's to run the marathon there). :D So don't see myself having to buy any new outfits but I know I have a few dinners to go to this year and I am including Christmas here but I can try and make use of some of my existing dresses I have in my wardrobe.

I have wardrobes and drawers busting at the seams which I plan to sort out for selling, dumping and donating whatever I don't wear. I am also going to make use of charity shops and sales for purchasing anything I need. And it will only be needs not wants. ;) I am going to stick to last years budget but will add an extra £100 in case DH needs anything throughout the year so my budget this year is £200.

Oh and I have already purchased two new pairs of running shoes in January but I don't think I will include them in my budget or it will be spent already. :rotfl:But they should last me for over a year as I am planning to cut down on the running after the marathon. I haven't spent anything in February so I suppose I had a no spend Feb.

    Oh sorry for the waffle.

    My Money Managing Ways
  • I'm the same moneymanager, doing Edinburgh Marathon in May and desperately need new trainers. Have not included running gear in my total budget either as it would be gone in a second and I don't need anything else anyway. Good luck for Paris, that should be phenomenal!

My running partner has lost 3.5 stone and we delved into her wardrobe and I came home with 4 pairs of linen trousers!!! REEESULT. am so happy as I have loads of white linen trousers which I love for summer, and I wanted a blue pair. Considered dyeing a couple of pairs and was telling her this and she gave me a pair of blue, a white pair, a cream pair and a black pair!!! I have such good friends. x x x
