Declaring a spend - bought a pair of boots in Clarks. £59.99 but they were down from £120 and it's the first pair of boots that i have found that are actually comfortable around my chunky calves. So i now have £170.03 for the rest of the year0

Right, only 3 hours left to go in February. I reckon it may be safe to declare my total.
I had a couple of last minute purchases though:- I purchased walking socks for my upcoming Lake District holiday = £10.61
- I'm going to add on the postage for my boots "misadventure" now (even though I've not been refunded for the rest yet) = £3.99
- Karen Millen dress off eBay (I have the same dress in pale gold in a size smaller and I love it - it cost me £150 so I should! I've been looking for one of these for a while. I watched an identical one sell for £42 in January so I was very happy with this price. It's not arrived yet but there are no returns anyway) = £13.75
Total up to the end of February for No. 54 : £135.59 / £500
(that's right isn't it? I'm supposed to declare my cumulative total, not just my total for Feb...?)
Right, I don't think I've really been trying very hard with this challenge so I'm going to attempt a no spend* March
*I have a handful of eBay saved searches for items I have owned previously and loved but which either I've lost, wore out, or I want the same in a different colour / size. Some of these never come up and I could probably bid quite high for them if they did, others come up all the time and I have a max price which I would pay for them. I am going to consider these "fair game" but I'm not allowed to make any whim purchases. Oh and I think the black tie event I have to go to in March has now been downgraded to cocktail wear for the women, so I should be fine with my existing wardrobe but if this changes I may still need to purchase an evening gown (but in that case my budget should rein me in). Slightly non-commitive definition of "no spend" but hopefully it will do the trick.0 -
Ok Not sure I can actually believe this!!

No 29 declaring a No Spend February... !
The X Catalogue shop have one of their perennial sales on though- these sales beat the charity shops hollow. However it's all good.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Just popping on to announce a no spend february for no 041:j:j. Now to try to do the same for March.
I had a Freedom Friday moment yesterday in a dress I had tucked away with all the stuff I had heading to the CS last weekend. It is a couple of sizes too big but looks pretty good loose, like its supposed to be that way. Wore it for work with a vest under for modesty and my lovely plum suede boots.:T It's nice to have something "new" to wear.
Will be on the lookout for "new" cardigans for the spring and maybe a couple of basic tees as mine are looking a bit worn or have gone missing I'm presuming in my daughters wardrobe. I will try and put this off till April though as I would like to try and lose a few pounds for summer first. And then maybe update my summer stuff with a couple of scarves and statement necklaces.Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)
Grocery challenge November : £291.65/300.00 NSD 10
