Over 100 items listed on eBay and lots more to list

Wow...that is good going charlies_mum! This evening I took photos of things I'm listing, got halfway through the first one and came on here. I really don't have much enthusiasm for listing but every penny counts :)

  • Didn't manage much today as I was in and out, hospital visiting and then out tonight. Managed to find a few bits:

    1. Teacup with no handle - bin
2-4. 3 parish magazines from last year

    It's a start!!!

I wondered whether to start another new thread, but fear it may cause even more confusion, what does everyone think ?

Christmas tree coming down today, but really struggling as I have done something to my back and really need to rest it

May sit and list some light items as it won't require much movement lol

i know exactly how you feel re back pain, mines still not right and im starting to get frustrated so many things i want to do but they all cause pain.
hope your back eases soon (i found a heat wrap helped mine yesterday so if you have one of those wheat pillows or something like a hot water bottle try sitting with that tucked on the painful part.)

as pink has had so many pms i'd have thought she would have either unlocked the thread or contacted you by now to start a new one. I'd suggest if nothing has been done by monday and you havent heard from her you start one then. what does anyone else suggest.

charlies_mum - maybe this will help you with getting an e-reader: http://bigstrawberry.com/product/pride-and-prejudice-by-jane-austen/

Love this although have resisted the temptation to buy.

I am another book lover who uses my Kindle and the Kindle app on my iPad to help control my book stash

I check out the free books, the Kindle daily deal and free app of the day most days so very little of the content has been paid for and the content I have purchased was at a reduced rate - typically 99p

A carrier bag of rubbish today plus some recycling. Downstairs rooms are now presentable although some drawers/cupboards need a sort out.

I am sitting propped up with cushions and that it easing it a bit. I do have a hot water bottle, but can't find it cos of all the clutter :( Hopefully this time next year, I will know where everything is :)

Will give it till tomorrow, and if pink hasn't managed to sort it, I will start a new thread

  • I'd like to join in again please.

I went through the loops of the 2 locked threads and there were some great ideas on there but of course I couldn't post.

Last year's decluttering was focused on the spare room which needed to be cleared to accommodate a visitor in August. The starting point was that the room was literally full - you couldn't see that there were wardrobes and a bed in there

So i worked at it most weekends and then took a week off work at the beginning of August and spent the whole time decluttering. In spite of my best intentions I ran out of time and had to put quite a lot of stuff into plastic storage crates without sorting it so that still needs to be done. It's mainly craft stuff so I don't want to just get rid of it.

So I would like to set myself the target of 100 items decluttered in January plus the whole year target of at least 1 item per day.

Last night I was looking round for something before I went to bed and spotted an old belt hanging in the wardrobe which belonged to a suit which has long since left the building. Sort of proves the system works.

    January de-cluttered items:
    1. Work suit which I used to love but it's so old it has shoulder pads :rotfl:
    2. Blouse and skirt which don't fit
    3. T shirt which doesn't suit me so has just been hanging in the wardrobe
    4. Smellies gift set which was a Xmas present - it's all bath stuff and we don't have a bath
All of the above are in the boot of the car ready to drop off at the CS so I'm counting them as they are out of the house
    5. Bag of shredded bills, statements etc added to the recycling
    6. Belt - see above

This weekend it will be taking down the decorations. My intention is that each time I go into the loft with decorations etc I will bring down something for sorting out (sell/donate/bin)

Love this thread and looking forward to reading the inspiring stories and anecdotes to keep me on track
  • Morning all.

Fell off the decluttering wagon towards middle of last year but it's a new year so am getting back on. Have listed a vacuum bag sealing thing and a hairdryer on freecycle. Hopefully will be collected this weekend. CS bag is half filled and I have 2 boyfriend jeans to list on ebay when next free listing weekend comes round. I may post them on gumtree or pre-loved and see what happens cos I think the postage on ebay will be extortionate.

I plan to have a sort out of something this weekend but not sure what as yet. :(
