After my first post on here last night, I felt so motivated to do more that I went and tackled the little girls room and cleared another 4 big bags full off stuff to do! Plus got rid of a tent as shes got 2!! Shes been so made up with her tidy room that ive been constantly tidying it up all day as shes playing with everything she couldn't get too!!
Bedroom had a quick de-clutter today. Next project now I've finished by min jobs for the night is to sort out boxes of paperwork out & store in the newly clean and empty junk cuboard!!
Feeling really good with the progess im making, much better than just wacthing boring tv lol xxDebt Remaing £315 :jBreath out the past, Breath in the futureBig Dreams Start Small0 -
Not a lot done since I last posted (I seem to say that a lot
) but have managed to sell a few things on ebay and after a couple of NPB alerts sent, most have paid. One, however hasn't so I've cancelled the tranasction and got my fees back :mad:. I have now relisted the item, which initially sold for 99p for £2 now (last time I had 6 watchers but have come to the conclusion that watchers mean nothing). I have loads of items on this weekend and have some bids already :j.
The recycling was choc full of paper again this fortnight, again from my DDs room. I'm decluttering her off on a school trip for 5 days tomorrow (:() so I may be able to get some more done in her room. But working full time doesn't leave much time to get things done.
The stuff for the tip is still here as DH says it's only worth taking a car full of stuff rather than a few bits as when the tip gets busy he can be sitting in the car waiting for about half an hour.Mortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £81,810.42 May 2037Swagbucks ~ £155 (2024 ~ £395)Surveys ~ £167.59 (2024 ~ £280.14)Make £2025 in 2025 #5 ~ £1,406.55 ~ (2024 ~ £2,561.04)0 -
Have managed quite a lot over the weekend, including bits in the garden!
Big Bin is due to be emptied on Tuesday & I'm squishing more in hoping there'll be enough room for a few more items that I'm determined to find tomorrow.... as I recycle as much as possible our bin is never full so the men this week will go:eek: at the amount I've wedged in:rotfl:
The Car boot crates are filling up nicely too & I'm thinking at this rate I'll need a trailer to get it all therestill, it'll be a one time only thing and the left overs shall be donated to a CS nearby when finished.
Under no circumstances will any of it be brought back into the house/shed/garden!

:T Well done to you all for your decluttering efforts.
Things are going slowly over here, don't know why but have been feeling really tired recently.
This is what me and OH have achieved over the weekend:
* Hoovered upstairs
* Done all the washing & ironing & and put it all away
* Planted 8 different herbs in our herb planter
* Used up 3 packets of seeds and some soil
* Read my personal emails, responded or deleted them as appropriate
Up early this morning to do my final preparation for an interview this afternoon.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Morning all, another wet/rainy day here in Hampshire. I hope the sun will come out later
Congratulations to fellow declutterers. Some good tossing out over the week end. Our homes look better with a little more space.
Yesterday I finished another patchwork bag in shades of pink. I soon filled it with some of my smaller clothes (underwear).
Last night, I took another look in my bedroom drawers. I discovered some lotions and potions out of date. Cold remedies and creams. Had a tossing half hour.
This morning cleaned the bathroom & fresh towel and bath mat.
In the kitchen - went through food cupboards and checked dates on packets and jars. Anything out of date went in the bin. I do this every few months.
I think I would cringe if I offered a guest something and they noticed/said it was out of date. Then that's just ME.
I have noticed this when out to dinner in other people's homes. ( I would be polite not to say anything though.)
Some times I think I have tossed or donated all I can, then find another area and start decluttering again! I have been decluttering now for about 6 weeks. A little every day.
No, I do not think my home was a big mess to start with, just not visitor friendly. Now every one is welcome.
I am getting very good at unsubscribing from junk as it comes in my email box, yet it still comes each day with fresh stuff.
Found another corner:( created by Oh. I fetched the recycle bin.
In went leaflets advertising shops and the same with booklets sent by post.These retailers seem to think we have a never ending budget to spend.
I even had a guy knock on my door today asking for work of any kind. Decorating, gardening, chopping down tree's. I wished him luck and sent him on his way...The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Seriously though, a friend has had so much trouble going through her mother's, then unfortunately her MIL's accumulated-over-many-years, 'sentimental items' after their deaths - it's taken her almost 2 years. I've thought long & hard about how much my children would have to do if/when anything happened to me & my husband & realise i need to take action.
thanks chris25 that's a very good pointAnd now my mum has given me all the cards & letter I sent her - my children don't want them, so what do I do with them? I have seen programmes where they suggest taking photos so that might be the thing to do!
Also as good idea Chris25

I still have some things from when my DS was at school and he will be 32 this year, lol! I also like to log things, I kept all my diaries and calendars for years so I could check what I'd done on certain dates, but I've now copied all the important things I want to remember onto the computer, and most of the diaries and calendars have now been recycled. I still have some to go through but I'm getting there!
Ha ha Sue14 that made me chuckle!!! So there's hope for me yet.

just back from a decluttering foray, broken shredder and 6 teens paperbooks donated to local high school. checked with them and they'd love the broken bm which luckily was still on the front so ive taken that back in and it will go to them tomorrow night. (its too heavy to walk it down)
posted a couple of birthday and easter cards along with a charity square id cross stitched.
reading what people keep of their kids, i think i have every birthday card mine have ever been sent and almost all of their school books. being realistic ill never want to part with their creative stuff but quite why im hanging on for dear life to old maths books is beyond me. i think i will aim to get same sized box for each of them and once the attic is a bit clearer go through each of their boxes and bags of stuff and try to cull some of it down.SPC~12 ot 124

Hello All
Hope everyone is keeping warm in this not very Spring-like weather, brrr.
Was on a mission yesterday, lots done:- 3 loads through WM and TD, ironed what I had to, all away;
- bathroom cleaned, so all sparkly, including mats and shower curtain;
- Guinea pigs cleaned out;
- Cooked roast chicken dinner, HM jam sponge for pud;
- DD and I baked a fruit cake, most of which already de-cluttered.
.
Car in for service and MOT today, so definitely not a NSD here!
Happy Monday everyone x
Keep Smiling0
