Shiny New Year, Shiny New Start. The January NSD Challenge

I realise that I am only the caretaker of this thread but it has become very close to my heart and I feel like I should be defending and protecting it.
As the main updater of front pages etc, there is nothing more annoying (for me personally) than when someone posts that they are only here because of NSK's thread. I actually feel quite hurt by that. It is as if the NSD thread is nothing in comparison and just an add on (ridiculous, I know) when in actual fact someone has nicked the NSD idea and taken it hardcore.
Everyone and anyone is welcome on this thread but they shouldn't be here if they are not taking part in the NSD thread in it's own right. They should be on the other thread.
It is true that the updates have been humungous since NSK's first challenge and it is taking longer to "look after" the thread and the front pages but we would do it regardless of whether people are being directed here or not. Because we can be bothered.
Now I do sound like a right old mooFree by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -

I agree rfta and fbf especially if it will create more work and even more so if the people 'looking after' this thread haven't been asked if it's OK.
I think NSK whilst focussed is not considering others though maybe she doesn't realise to be fair.
This thread as well as other long standing threads tend to have the original friendly MSEness, which sometimes gets lost due to eagerness.
Unless another NSD challenge thread is going to pop up in which case where is the point?Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -
Hey freeby, you dont sound like an old moo, really you dont, you just sound like someone who runs this thread and feels protective of it. And you have every right to do that.
Apologies if i have hurt you by saying i was here because of Kats thread, that was never the intention. To be honest, i'd be here (and was here) before Kats threads.
The NSD thread is a vital part of keeping me on track, and i dont want to leave- therefore i would like to stay, declaring my own 25NSDs, in no way part of the other thread (which i will be withdrawing from).....if you'll have me?0 -
Can I ask for 23 NSDs please as I won't be buying lunch or breakfast for that matter in work anymore.
My no spends will be the silly stuff I don't need instead of actual bills if that's OK? I'll use this month as a test month to see how things go.Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -

As I failed miserably in December, I think I only achieved 5 in total. I'm going to try again and aim for 10 again this month anything above that is a bonus.
Thanks xx
Sorry but we don't ever use the f word!:eek::eek:We just don't quite manage to reach our target.:)
To help you remember this,Chef Igor has lovingly prepared a lovely Scottish delicacy of mouldy kippers.:D*** peeks sheepishly around door ***
having fallen off every wagon last year, I'd like to come back if you'll let me please?
Trying to figure out a target's a bit tricky!! I've got into the habit of nipping into Mr T after I've been to the gym on a Monday morning if I need something, then after work/swimming lesson on a Friday, then hitting local shops on a Saturday (for anything I need and forgot for cooking for OH and myself that evening), and then get requests from elder DS to pick up milk on other days with little or no notice!! (Is Daisy still around for borrowing?)
I could do with dropping either the Friday or Saturday (probably the Friday as I never spend as much locally - Mr T always seems to convince me I need stuff I don't ), so am hoping to get down to 2 food shopping days a week.
I'm also planning on allowing one day a month for a bulk shop, having recently acquired a membership card for C0stc0 (OH couldn't understand why I was so excited about it until I took him round - and we're spending NYE there making notes of prices of things we regularly use so we know whether we're better off buying there or at the normal supermarkets)
So that would mean 9 grocery spend days in January (Monday and Saturdays plus 1 day), and I'd best allow another 4 days for picking up milk which takes it to 13. Looking at Direct Debits I may need another 6 days to cover those, which makes for as many as 18 spend days
So that means I've potentially got 12 NSDs for January - though I'm hoping requests for milk may 'clash' with other spends giving me a few more
Great to see you back cheryl.
Sorry to read about your health problems, hope the new diet helps.hi there.

A poster called NinjaSavingKat who in her eagerness is rubbing peeps up the wrong way a little bit.
