that's definitely the issue with me. Something I need to focus on changing during 2013.

Not one for celebrating New Years much, hubby doesn't drink and we have 5 kids aged 9 and under so never go out for it, will probably crash in front of the tv with nibbles0

I've had a mixture of NYE's, when i was younger we used to go to the cinema then open a bottle of champers (well babycham for me) and watch jools. Then as i got older i started going out to clubs. I worked a few while i was at uni (worked in a nightclub-luckily we got a free drink at midnight), then when i was working, an after stayed in and watched dvds. Last few have bee house parties as it is also my friend's birthday, sadly she's working this year but we;re having a house party in her honour. I'd rather just be with a few friends than bother with the clubs these days (and the alternative is spending it alone in my flat-bf is working it)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Flip I must be the only one whos hating that she has somewhere to go this year
I hate being out on nye.
Last few years been on baby sitting duties, few years before that - worked. This year we have brother and sister in law stoping over so it's the whole thing, meals out, meals in, being kept up till the early hours talking bull, and then drag myself into work New Years morning for one of the busiest days of the year
Swap anyone?..0 -
Me and hubby and the 2 little 'uns are staying in, lots of i*elands finest party bits, games on the wii, jools on the tv. snogs, cuddles and party poppers at midnight.
Bliss!
No worry about babysitters, getting home, silly drunk people and can go to my bed whenever i please love it!:DSIMPLY BE-££577.11:eek:

I don't like new years to be honest, when I was younger I used to do the clubbing etc but now I've got DD 7 and so since she's been here we've just stayed in. It is a bit samey I agree - I've looked at Pontins in Southport and it's only £99 for 3 nights I'm tempted but I've no spare cash, maybe next year for something different. The problem is that most of friends have to drive to get here or me to them and I've not the biggest house so throwing a party is great but it means there's always a nominated driver. I always fall asleep before midnight anyway!!
Sod those who are leaving you out.0 -
Hiya, we're usually in the same boat! Our relatives stay miles away, too far to drive & I'm not great at staying up late anyway. What we often do tho is pack a picnic, soup & sarnies & drive as close as we can get to our local street party. We catch whatever band is playing for the last half hour or so & then see the fireworks at midnight. There's usually a few more Norman no mates like ourselves, lol and we all wish each other happy new year. It's a lovely atmosphere, fun for the kids without the crowds josteling & not too late for me!
I hope you find somewhere to go or something to do that you enjoy:)0 -
Last year OH and I stayed overnight in London, went out for a VERY fancy (and very expensive) meal at The Savoy, watched the fireworks from a specially set up cocktail area upstairs (and then trekked two miles back to our hotel as all the roads in the west end get closed and so do the tube stations, I was in very high heels and the streets were littered with drunk people and broken glass - luckily we were merry enough not to mind!)
This year we couldn't justify the price tag of somewhere like The Savoy again so we booked the hotel but just a normal dinner in a nice restaurant.
However, last night we decided to cancel the whole thing, buy in some party food and nice wine and just stay at home. We will be saving about £500 once you had added together the hotel and the dinner and drinks, and we will have a lovely time at home just the two of us
We have even decided to get all dressed up although we are just staying at home....half the reason I wanted to go out was that I hardly ever get a chance to put on a nice frock and some heels, but why not dress up for each other at home?!

we stay at home not keen on going out. we used to go to bed at normal time but now our DD is older she likes to stay up so we do party food and play games, im sure it wont be long and she will be going out with her friends and we will go back to going to bed early.
Happy New Year to you allYou can if you think you can .0 -
