I really don't think it warrants a neutral. I'd just mark them down for dispatch and comms, as I do hate people who lie about when something is dispatched.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • I really hope you never buy anything from me, you are marking them that low just because they marked it despatched the day before. They did use a different service but by no means inferior in speed or service.
I mark all my items despatched the night before i post so i know i have packaged them up and they are in my parcel sack ready to go in the morning. If i ended up with a buyer like you i'd get a nice trashing for it-great!

Beleive it or not marking an item despatched used to be for the sellers benefit so they knew when they had sent/packaged something. The buyer never knew when it actually got sent until they had the parcel.
Ebay brought in the automated email to buyers which annoys me slightly as my records are my business and seems to cause problems for some buyers who clearly don't like to be mislead by a day.
As long as you get your parcel within the estimated delivery time i think your making a mountain out of a mole hill and feel sorry for the seller esspecially as you say you didn't need it quickly or anything so why does it matter if the tracking/despatch was a day out.

1 or 2 for comms when they have replied to you at least once, you know where the parcel is from tracking provided how does that warrant such a low star.
You do know that a seller only needs 3 low stars (anything below a 3) and they risk loosing their account and living?

I sell occasionally on eBay so no need to give me the lecture, and fyi I mark as dispatched when I get home from the PO. I never do it before because really anything could happen to prevent me sending it. So I mark as dispatched when it has been, well dispatched!

Your records are your business but I am not the only one on this thread, or indeed forum, to express annoyance at things being marked as dispatched when it hasn't been sent.

I am thinking 1 or 2 for comms because I was given a false date of dispatch, initially misinformed about the service used and no explanation or apology has been offered since I brought it to the sellers attention. 1 is low I see that so I will probably go with a 2 or 3.

I do appreciate all the advice given.

I agree totally, nothing gets marked as dispatched from me until it has physically left me. Anything else is pre-emptive and could potentially lead to problems.

That said i dont think things have been terrible especially considering there where probably 3 days (sunday, xmas day, boxing day) that it may well have been impossible to send. personally if it comes soon as described i'd be on a positive with 3's for comms and dispatch.

I tend to like to leave myself room to differentiate between different problems, for example i'd never leave a 1 for comms even if i asked questions and the seller never got back to me, thats because to me abuse or swearing for example is worse and that would be a 1.

    but maybe i'm a big softie!! :)
if i had known then what i know now
  • Looks like you've already decided what to do and i hope your seller can take it, there really are much worse things that buyers have dealt with before that warrant a 1 or 2.
Your feedback is your own business, you asked for advice thats what i gave not a lecture!
You are potentially brewing up a plan to wreck a sellers account for not much of an issue imo.
Some sellers drop their parcels off in a big sack at the PO, come home mark the item as despatched and then go in the next day to pay for the parcels. Parcels might not get stamped and sent though until the morning when the pay. How a seller manages their despatch process is up to them and really hitting them hard for something minor is a bit ott.

I think the only time I've ever left a low for despatch time was when the item was never actually sent to me.

I think you are harsh and I hope you never buy from me.

Usually I only mark down for dispatch if it is sent outside the time stated on the listing.
Seeing as the saturday and xmas eve can't be counted as working days (for the seller I mean since Collect+ shops tend to have long opening hours) then I see now this item was sent within the stated time frame, so I need to stick to my own guidelines on that one.

I still haven't decided what to leave for comms though.

Some post office will do it, none of mine though.

I've been offered a similar thing with the PO I visit occasionally. Drop off the parcels and the right money at the convenience store down the road and then collect the POPs from the same shop at the end of the day.
