As Thursday was the last posting for Xmas, it would have not made difference if it posted on Saturday or Today.

We closed last Friday & re-opened today, although we only mark as dispatched when adding the tracking numbers

That would be quite poor business management though, it is hardly a surprise to any seller that Christmas was on the 25th this year. They either manage their sales better or learn to communicate delays or other problems with the buyer.

I would also take great exception to having A different service used to the one I was expecting.

I know, I planned my listings around Christmas but not everyone is as sharp :rotfl:

It really would not bother me, I guess it depends on the person, but even so I don't think that would make me neg someone/low stars.

I was posting up to the Saturday before Christmas and much of the stuff I sent second class on the Friday was delivered on Christmas Eve.

So was I, and some of the stuff I posted has reached its destination while some hasn't. In my opinion the OP is being awkward and impatient, they have no idea when the item was dispatched or if the system was delayed in notifying her.

It is the OP's fault that they left it so late to order an item during the Christmas period, they should have more patience instead of showing such delight at the potential wrecking of someones business.

Nowhere have I moaned about not getting it yet/ before Xmas, it wasn't anything needed for then anyway! The last things I needed for Xmas were ordered first week of December lol and I knew ordering then could be cutting it fine. I also hung on 2 1/2 weeks waiting for a dvd before I asked for a refund so I am not an impatient buyer.

What I did moan about was being incorrectly informed of dispatch and service used.

Seller marked as sent Saturday via Royal Mail Tracked
It was actually sent 1 working day later via Collect +

    Is that simple enough?

Thanks to everyone who has given feedback, always good to have other viewpoints and given me lots of to think about.

Seller did get back to me saying it was sent Collect + today, I have asked if there was a mix-up with dispatch notification as have email saying sent Saturday RM Tracked, and am waiting to hear back.
  • Yes we understand, it just seems such a minor thing to get worked up about. Even if the seller did make a mistake it is a very busy period and, in my view, you should cut them a little slack

Thanks, as I said all feedback appreciated :)
  • I sent some stuff, second class, on monday and both have arrived today. So if they had sent it on Sat you might well have had it today.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.
  • overall i would not worry about feedback until the transaction is complete and you have your item.

to my mind the overall experience could still be positive.

you could get the item in the next couple of days (i know your not complaining about time) that means you have it within about a week at a point where just about everything shuts down delivery wise for 2 days.

I agree, one of my pet hates is things being marked as dispatched when they have not been but if it was just a couple of working days then i'd not trash them for it.

so basically if they communicate with you and tell you why they used collect plus, and it arrives as described in a decent time frame then personally I would still call that a positive transaction and leave a positive, probably knocking down the dsr for dispatch to no lower than 3, comms depending on how they react now. p+p depending what the actual cost was vs what you paid.

just my thoughts. yes i hate things being marked as dispatched when they have not but it's still reasonably quick especially considering the time of year and i'd not trash them for it.
if i had known then what i know now

It's now reached my local depot so as Yodel are generally good in this area (!) I expect it to come today or Monday.
Seller has not responded to my last message.
Right now it's a toss-up between positive/neutral. Thinking 3* for dispatch and 1 or 2 for comms because as yet i've not had an explanation on top of the previous misinformation.
P&P was free so doesn't apply and it'll get 5 for description unless the use by date doesn't match the listing- most sellers don't put in a use-by date for this product so I thought that was a bonus (as long as it matches of course!).
