Ok so I bought and paid for an item late on Friday, marked as dispatched Saturday via Royal Mail Tracked.
No tracking number provided and as it didn't arrive today I sent a polite message to the seller asking for the tracking number.
Two hours later I get a parcel2go email saying something is on it's way to me via Collect+. Item posted at a corner shop so it can only be the eBay item since the only other order I have coming is Debenhams.
I am really annoyed and marking something as dispatched before being sent is a pet hate of mine. Even taking into account xmas it's not on.
Thinking of 1* of comms and dispatch time and then either a neutral/neg saying something like "stated dispatched RM Tracked then sent day later Collect+.
I want to stick to the facts so if the seller asks eBay to take it off they say no.
They are a TRS business seller with a 1 working day dispatch time.

To be honest, the Collect+ system appears to be fairly flawed. I posted an item to Wallis using this system on 11th November. It never arrived, I had to wait 28 days before uploading my receipt and getting a refund. The refund arrived just before Christmas. Therefore, it is possible the seller delivered the item when he said he did.0

It is Christmas and therefore it can take longer whatever service they are using. Some couriers can actually take a week to deleiver non Christmas time anyway so TBH I think you have gone a bit OTT, its not even a week yet.The Fields are Green, The sky is blue, the River Nene goes winding through, The market square is Cobblestoned, It shakes the old dears to their bones, A finer town you'll never see, A finer town they'll never be, Big city lights don't bother me, Northampton Town I'm proud to be!0

I'm not worried it hasn't got here yet, I just was told it was sent Saturday via RM and then when I politely asked for a tracking number today I get an email 2 hours later from Parcel2go saying it's coming via Collect+ (sent today according to their tracking)
When a tracking number isn't provided I always ask the seller for it so I can track myself and I waited until today because I did not want to bother them xmas eve.
I do have a problem when dispatch day and service are told to me wrongly.
And I want to be fair and factual in feedback, hence asking for advice.0 -
It might well have been dropped off at the collect+ shop on saturday for all you know, sunday isn't a working day-assume monday the courier started it through the system. Tue was xmas, wed was a bank holiday there is no way on earth it would be with you today whatever service they used.
I feel your being harsh considering it's xmas time and saturday isn't classed as a working day last time i checked. So they did send it within the 1 working day imo, however if they have used the wrong service then you should take that up with them before leaving fb.
I don't think you've given them much time to respond either given the time of year so 1* for comms is a bit much.
You also seem very keen to make sure the feedback sticks and you don't even have the item yet.0 -
If reading this board on MSE has taught me anything it's to be factual in feedback so it doesn't get removed, I have seen this advice time and again to buyers and sellers.
I am asking for views because I am not sure what feedback/stars to leave, and if the advice is 1* is too harsh then I take that on board.
Again I am not at all bothered it hasn't arrived yet so I don't know why people are picking on me with regards to this.
My gripe is dispatch and service used were not communicated to me correctly. According to the Collect+ tracking it was booked and dropped off at the shop today. However as another poster said the tracking for Collect+ can be pants I will take this with a pinch of salt.
EDIT: Seller confirms it was sent today via Collect + and not Saturday RM Tracked so I have asked why/if there was a mix-up.0 -
Why would you neg and leave low stars for someone using a different posting service - as long as it reaches you in a reasonable time why does it really matter?
Are they a busy seller? They might have marked yours as dispatched by accident. Also Saturday was past last posting date so maybe they wanted to wait till after Christmas when the post is less busy and it will be in the system less time so less chance of it getting lost. The Fields are Green, The sky is blue, the River Nene goes winding through, The market square is Cobblestoned, It shakes the old dears to their bones, A finer town you'll never see, A finer town they'll never be, Big city lights don't bother me, Northampton Town I'm proud to be!0 -

That would be quite poor business management though, it is hardly a surprise to any seller that Christmas was on the 25th this year. They either manage their sales better or learn to communicate delays or other problems with the buyer.
I would also take great exception to having A different service used to the one I was expecting.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I've got a real bee in my bonnet about people who mark something as dispatched when they haven't yet sent it. It really annoys me ! However, I've never negged anyone about it or given them a neutral. Normally, I'd give them a 3 - 4 on comms, because they didn't give me the correct dispatch date. As for feedback, I'd just concentrate on the positive side of the transaction.
Life is difficult enough for sellers, I think it's too harsh to trash them completely just for one thing that I find annoying!Early retired - 18th December 2014

I think that it is unfair to leave a bad feedback, Collect+ are slow most of the time so it is not the sellers fault, they may know they are slow but they state that, with it being around Christmas I would give it a few more days, ask him for the proof of sending and if that actually says that he sent it after Saturday then I would leave a lower rating like 3/5 for that but I would not give a negative.0

I think you have misread the thread.
