    Debt-free and Proud!
It is tricky Ruby - it might be worth asking CAP if you can make additional payments 'as and when you can' so you don't have to go through the whole reassessment process.. I know i was able to make the odd extra payment as well as my DD because i couldn't actually increase it.

Good Luck with the OH :D xxx

am planning on doing a car boot tomorrow, so am away to sort some boxes lol!
Debt at Aug 2010 (LBM) £21,908.86, Debt Freeeeee Date 4th Nov 2013 :j:j:j Massive Thanks to the £10 per day thread :A Next goals:
Savings £1203.16/£10,000******Mortgage to Zero: £52,579.46 to go
    Feb Earnings: £711.20/£500 March: £434.41/£500
Currently compiling an A-Z of earning sites and happy to share it ;)
  • Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday :)

Fairy - how did the car boot go?

I'm off to collect an ebay win shortly, Fisher Price pirate ship for my nephew for Christmas. Then that will be it for spending for today! I need to collect some packing stuff from my friend and then I intend to come home, potter around, do washing & ironing and cook some meals for the week. Not very exciting but cheap, which is good as my estate agents have just told me that I have to pay to have the carpets & curtains professionally cleaned before I leave the flat - grrrrr. Apparently it's the norm?! Never heard of it before in any place I've rented.....

For CAP, I think I will ask them to allocate an extra £100 or so to my debts every month (that's what I pay for council tax at the moment, so I'll still be better off by not paying rent and bills!) and then stash away a little fund myself to offer a settlement later. After all presumably you could be offered the money at any point by friends/ family, so there shouldn't be a limit on when you can offer a settlement figure - or I hope not, anyway!

Right, off to collect my ebay stuff. I'll be back for some positive stepping later! xxx
Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j

Sounds like a plan Rubyred, that way you get to save up some money and they are still getting extra, I think that's fair enough :)
I've been thinking about a DMP. Seeing as I can't seem to manage my money, this might be a good option for me.
Can you make overpayments to it and they allocate them for you to the different debts? Or not..
Lots of steps for today, just waiting to see if my driving instructor got my message about not being well today or not....hopefully she did and I can come back and list my steps, if not, I may have to go and drive.
She's due now so we shall see...I may be back :)

Well what a rubbish weekend i had for money making - first car boot i drove down the road then turned round as it was lashing, second one i went to, spent £10 to get in and about £15 on fuel - lifted £10.50 :(

I've now had my ebay account restricted as well so i am depending on selling on fb right now.....

Ruby i think your decision is sound - just be careful about posting too much info on here, remember it is an open forum and technically you should be paying as much as possible off your debts. I think it makes sense for you to hold onto some money for all sorts of reasons though.

Suzi yes a dmp will take a single payment and allocate it to your creditors - it does affect your credit history though and is worth giving some thought to - if you need any advice do feel free to PM me if you don't want to post details openly.

Ok so stepping time for me again......Today i am going to focus on tidying and cleaning downstairs:

    wash dishes - done :)
clear kitchen table - done :)
do some washing - done :)
hang washing up - done :)
put recycling out - done :)
take clean clothes upstairs - done :)
tidy living room - almost finished!
    hoover

I also have some other things to do today:

sort parcels i have to send - 2 giveaway items and 2 sales
    post parcels
check ebay for response - done :)
    contact health centre for appointment
    check clinic appointment

That will get me started again at least :)

I'm posting some quotes and things on my positive steps blog now and wish i could share the link but i'm not allowed to :( if any of you want to get the updates from it though just let me know and i can sort that for you :)

Thanks Fairy I may just do that....I know it will affect my credit history, but I think it might be the best way anyway, sighhhh I don't know, I can't really manage my debts as they are at the moment, even though I have paid a few off now which feels good :j

Sorry to hear about the car boots, and any idea why your ebay has been rerstricted? Seems very odd...

And also yes I would like updates to your blog please, let me know how I can get them :p

And I FINALLY got round to posting ur PJs out to you. They are coming 2nd class so shouldn't be too long I hope :)

  • Hey Suzi

Thanks so much for the PJ's :) am all excited now lol!

The DMP definitely helped me sort my debts and i wish i had done it sooner so as long as you know the consequences then i think its a good option - it really made a difference to me as i had to pay just £5 per debt which was £45 originally - think i was paying something like £300 before that..... you will need to show you can't pay your current amounts tho.

Ebay have restricted my account because it links to another one......didn't think that was a problem but obviously it is. They said they weren't happy with my selling model......... and that is despite getting power seller status! Honestly i just think they make up rules as they go along :( and they say i am permanently banned from selling now. 7 emails later i'm no further on :(

I can sign you up to automatic updates on bloggiepoo if you want :) just pm me an email address and i can do the rest - you will get a confirmation request. I now have about 15 blogs hahahahahaha i won't sign you up to them all :P the stepping one and the depression one you want?

hope you are feeling better now btw :D xxx

Oh and my christmas shopping is now finished hahahaha
