parking fine from BPA

I've recieved a parking fine from the british parking association for parking longer than the permitted time at a multi-store car park. they have pictures of my vehicle when it arrived and when it left but that is all. Is this a genuine fine I must pay or can it be ignored as they cannot prove the driver

No you didnt. You received an enforceable private invoice from a private Parking Company.

No one is allowed to issues 'fines' except a court of law, and only after a trial ad due process of law, and the BPA is an old boys club that doesnt have any powers apart from looking after the vested interests of its crooked members.

Furthermore, it doesnt matter if they can prove who the driver is or not, if they dont own the land or dont rent it, they have no legal authority to offer parking or chase you for money,

SO, in summary, a private company sent you a begging letter because you entered some land they were prowling about on. They have no legal authority to charge you a red cent or chase you for money any more than I have.

So, you'll agree the best plan is ignore them and all the scary but toothless rubbish they send you in the post over the next few months, all of which will not amount to a hill of beans.

You have not got a fine.

This was not issued by the BPA.

It's from a private company, look at the fake PCN and you'll see who issued it. Search this forum for their name or Google their name and the word 'ignore'.

You can ignore it - there are several reasons why - but they don't have to prove who was driving.

Why not read other threads, all our threads (not the stickies at the top but the actual new threads) are like yours:

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Thank you for the information.

The letter states that if no payment is recieved in 28 days the outstanding debt will be forwarded to a debt recovery agency. Is this anything to worry about? Or is this just another scare tactic?

Oh stop. Please read the forum. Out of sheer frustration I just posted this and I make no apologies for it:

They all use debt collector letters, that's why those letters are shown here in a sticky for you to play snap with each well-known threatogram:

Please, please read the forum first. Then by all means ask for advice on anything we've not made clear. Your fake PCN is the same as on all the threads here.

    Dont you mean unenforcable??

The BPA is a trade association - in other words a members club set up to represent the interests of its members.

Who was/is the company that issued the charge notice?

Photos are meningless, any mug can take a photo, and if its an automatic camera, how do you know the times are acurate.

Much much more information is required.
Some official parking authorities ( such as councils) are also members of the BPA, again who issued the ticket? who is it payable to?
if its a council, then its a very different matter to if its a private company

Was/is it a parking charge notice, or a penalty charge notice?

Was this a pay and display car aprk or a free car park with a time restriction, and no clear way to pay for extra time?

more information is required for a reasonable answer.

Please understand the difference between a 'debt collector' and a 'bailiff'.

A Bailiff can enforce court orders. Bailiffs are registered and controlled by law. That is to say, there has been a court hearing of some sort which you lost and was ordered to pay money which you didnt. Never ignore Bailiffs.

A Debt Collector, on the other hand, is some thug usually straight out of Wandsworth prison, in a shed on a scrap yard, with no legal powers or ability to do anything, including make you pay a red cent for a debt that hasnt been proven in court and which you dont therfore owe. Any thug or scum can set themselves up as a Debt Collector with no previous experience, knowledge or rights. If a Debt Collector ever knocks, you say "Ill give you 15 seconds to get off my land, and then ill set the dogs on you and call the police".

No, debt collectors are just another version of private parking scum, and in some cases the same people. Ignore, they full of sh1te.

Take another look at the fake ticket and find out who gave it to you, the bpa will not have given you it, normally you can see the company name where you enter their sham appeal or where payment is sent to
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

  • The letter is a parking charge notice and has the BPA logo. The only other company mentioned is G24 Ltd which the money is supposed to be paid to.

The car park is free with a time limit that you cannot extend.
