I've just placed an order with Westin Gourmet, following your post. There is a special offer for new customers. The meat isn't cheap, but I hope it is as good as it looks!
I hope you enjoy it as much as we do, and I agree it isnt cheap but then thats a choice everyone can make. I looked at the other website advertised but still think that the chicken breasts here are bigger, in fact I struggle to eat a whole one! The only thing I have had that I wouldnt order is the cornfed chicken, it was lovely but I wouldnt pay that much for a whole chicken as it is only small. They encourage you to leave feedback and they act on it. I left good feedback and then my husband said that in a particular pack of bacon that the slices were too thin and fell apart when peeling them off. I made the comment and a few days later had a call apologising, telling me they had spoken to the supplier and would I like a free pack of bacon and what day would I like it delivered! 45 slices free! Their customer service is second to none they were most helpful last year when I was trying to place my christmas order. Let me know how you get on with it.
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

I've never come across Clare Barry meat before but some of the prices are quite tempting. Has anybody on here bought from there and been disappointed? The high cost of p&p for a small order puts me off a bit and £80 is rather a lot to spend to get free delivery, especially if we are not going to like the quality of the meat!

I've just put an order in so will see what the quality is like, found nothing but good reviews and for the price it's worth a try as will save me quite a bit if decent.

    20 Chicken fillets £19.99
    4 x 450g steak mince £8.99
20 chicken drumsticks £8.99 (Ds is obsessed with chicken hence so much chicken!)
20 10 minute beef steaks £19.98 - perfect for stir fries
20 10 minute pork loin stakes £19.98 - perfect for stir fries
    2 Shropshire roasters £10.99

total £88.92 so free delivery. one pack of ten beef steaks and pork steaks I've ordered for my dad as he's just phoned in tears as his freezer defrosted and the steak he treated himself to is ruined!

Not bad,as long as it' s good meat. Just need to do the fish, veg, cereal and top up shop and that'll be our food shopping done for a bit and . whole lot cheaper...especially as I won' t be picking load of extras up as normal when I go to get more meat:o:D

Think I've just halved the monthly shop actually:rotfl:

I'll let you know tomorrow :) They only do deliveries on Wednesdays and Fridays and tomorrow is their first delivery date after Christmas.

Looking forward to the delivery though!

Hope you are impressed with them shegirl.
I really have noticed the difference in quality compared to supermarket meat.
If you place another order, try the Diced Chicken too, I like the burgers too and the gammon steaks.
Was not that keen on the sausages, prefer Tesco Finest.

If I do like it I'll definitely be ordering gammon next time. It's got me tempted to try Partridge too lol and they do duck breasts...YUM!

May try the diced chicken, half the breasts will probably end up diced lol Won't bother with the sausages as I'm fussy with them and I make my own burgers :)

Westin Gourmet pork are the best sausages ever! We like their burgers as well.

Customer service is amazingly good. They literally turn themselves inside out to make sure their customers are happy.
  • O.P I would advise you to go to a local farm shop and tell them what your after.I got two massive XL free range chickens today from mine for £3.50 each. They were so heavy that I struggled with them in my backpack. The legs are really fat because the birds run about outside. Also they are not injected wth water etc.
I think thats a good deal.
