OK, here I go, planning as I type again. One day, I'll force myself to finalise the plan before I go shopping! Although Saturday was a change from last weeks planned meal to use up last weeks veg so haven't ended up with any waste yet. Anyway, here goes...

[STRIKE]Sun - roast chicken, roast spuds, roast carrot, cauli&broc cheese, rhubarb crumble[/STRIKE]
Mon - LO chicken with pesto, pasta, mushrooms, onions & courgette
Tue - thai green (LO) chicken curry with mushroom, onion & red pepper
Wed - gammon, mash, cauli&broc cheese
    Thur - lasagne
Fri - fishcakes, chips, whatever veg is still lurking
Sat - sausages in a form that goes best with whatever veg is still lurking or with eggs chips & beans if I've used all the veg up by then.
  • here we go

friday - mustard chicken and bacon
saturday - sausages with potatoe gratin
sunday - sticky toffee pudding in slow cooker
    monday - not sure yet
    tuesday- chicken dinner
wednesday - slow cooker mince stew
thursday - parmesan chicken and salad
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!

Completely failed to get the gammon out of the freezer in time to put it in slow cooker yesterday so moved Fridays fishcakes and will have gammon tomorrow (if I remember to get it out again! otherwise we're on fishcakes twice!). Good job really as I also didn't have any cheese for the cauli-cheese and I really like a bit of cauli-cheese with gammon (don't ask me why!)

Meals plan done for the next couple of weeks. As it is half term, I am planning on spending a day cooking for the freezer. The plan is to make: two cheese and onion pies, two lasagnes, two sausage casseroles and some fishcakes.

All made and in the freezer, except the fishcakes that is. I'm making those tomorrow, will have half for tea and freeze the rest.
Will also need to re-visit the farm shop, they didn't have enough welsh dragon sausages, I'll pick up extra mince whilst I'm there and a chicken for Sundays meal.
I've spent a bit more than planned this week due to half term. It's only 4 weeks until school finishes for Easter so I'm going to have to stock up a bit more on juice, baking ingredients and bread. We have also gone through more milk than usual.
At least I can plan ahead now though, I'll stock up on juice when I see it on offer and hide it!

It's a very slow roasted pork joint (usuallu pork shoulder). The low temp and long cooking time means you can literally pull th joing apart with a fork!

    It is delicious!

Well so far so good this week.
Stuck to plan and shopped from freezer and cupboards and not sorting next week!!!

Bonus today was son went to fishing club in secondary school and caught massive rainbow trout, neighbour gutted it so it's chopped up and froze 4 portions and big bit there for tea Tom!

I'm nights next week so everything needs to be slow cooker or Labour easy!

    Sunday quorn sausage dinner
Monday fish and new pots (sons catch :) )
Tuesday sausage pie and beans (pie made last week and frozen)
Weds. Lasagne and sweet pot wedges (lasagne made and frozen last week)
Thursday. Chicken curry and rice (all ingredients in roasted bag and frozen so pop in slow cooker)
Friday pasta with tom and onions and garlic (slow cooker)
Sat pork In tom and onions in slow cooker and rice

The batch cooking and pre prepared in the roasting bags is ideal on busy weeks and the kids eat well in the budget we have
    :A :j
