Am I correct in assuming the police allowed you the opportunity to drive away after establishing you had no insurance, by leaving you on trust ?
If this is the case, you might be lucky, they may not do anything, they certainly would not want that bringing up in a court by a defence solicitor.Be happy...;)0 -
I've seen it a few times in the local rag and even on one of the 'Police Action Camera' type TV shows. It ought to be pointed out that beat bobbies also do not normally carry breath test kits but also have radios to request one should they need it. Have you considered that one?
Ah so your knowledge and experience comes from the media. Thanks for confining that.
For your info breath kits are carried in most police vehicles.0 -

Come on then spacey, where are you going with this one?0 -

Good for you! I am not arguing with you on that one although I would imagine it would depend on a lot of things on how long it would take a recovery truck to arrive (which no doubt the officers in this case would of been aware of). For example, there may of been a serious RTC in the same area at the time.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. Oh yes, I see your point now. I didn't account for a garage with one recovery truck being allowed on the police rota.0 -

God, lets hope you never sit on a jury if you read into things that deeply. Talk about not seeing the wood for the trees!Sgt_Pepper wrote: »For your info breath kits are carried in most police vehicles.
Yes I know, but some don't. And what about my comment about beat bobbies? You havn't shot me down in flames on that one yet!PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

I must admit at first that's what it sounded like to me which I was thinking that we were not getting the full accurate story.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

A beat bobby is more likely to call up a panda than a traffic car.0 -

Well God forbid that I think you are being sarcastic here, but it is highly likely that there would not be a full compliment of recovery facilities available on Christmas day compared to a normal day of the week. So I think it's safe to assume that the normal 30 mins of response (to which you claim it to be, and I havn't argued with that), was not going to happen in the OP's case.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only.
