Quiet day.
Usually, I will meet mum for a walk beforehand but as the weather was so pants, we passed on the walk and I drove straight to mum's. We opened pressies, then had lunch and weather dried up so went for a walk and picked up some logs from the woods for a nice roaring, log fire.
Picked some veggies from the garden.
My bro, SIL and nephews live abroad so we spent quite a while on Skype this afternoon - can't believe how much the boys have changed since I last saw them a year ago!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

:rotfl:Very speedy.Christmas is always a bit of an anticlimax really isn't it.
I got really excited about Christmas beforehand and then the day itself is usually dull.:D0 -
OH cooked the dinner and left the kitchen super clean (did I mention I love him
) my nan popped in, rest of the day just the 7 of us!
I cried at the snowman and the snowdog (twice!)
We watched ice age 4 and had a giggle. Kids very happy with presents, and my mum hasn't started being horrible (yet) so all in all a good dayMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Good day, the kids didn't get up till 8am, were gratifyingly thrilled with all their presents, nice lunch out, afternoon/evening spent vegging out in front of the TV at relatives while all eight cousins played daft board games. And I got some nice presents including a huge box of my favourite choccies.
No stress, no high expectations, no cooking, no feeling of wasting vast amounts of cash on pointless and unappreciated presents, no feeling sick from eating too much. Good day, really!Val.0 -
Trouble free which is good & it was my first Christmas with my partner. It made me a bit sad that I didn't have my six year old the full day as he was at my exs for part of the day, but he enjoyed the day & had two Christmases.٩(•̮̮̃•̃)۶ ٩(-̮̮̃-̃)۶ ٩(●̮̮̃•̃)۶ ٩(͡๏̯͡๏)۶ ٩(-̮̮̃•̃)۶ :EasterBun0

Quite a nice day. We drove to pick up BIL (doesn't live with my sister - another story) and he had a friend from back home with him, so brought him along too. The two of them spent most of the day on their mobiles speaking to family and friends in Ghana in their local language, so we gave up trying to include them, and just got on with it. They're both ex-pro footballers so they pored over a football book Mum had got BIL for Xmas. My sister was stressed so I shoved her out of the kitchen and took over the cooking - she has the worst oven ever, but we got there in the end. Baby niece was super-excited but very well-behaved - teen niece had a bit of a strop but got over it. Mum was well-behaved and not sulking, so it was a winner all round. I was glad to get home though - her house is so hot it makes me feel ill and with the guys there I couldn't strip off."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

Have had a lovely day all told!
Had my mum, brother & his girlfriend here with myself OH and my daughter, we all started opening pressies about 10am and then I gave then a very big surprise which left my OH shaking and my daughter in shock (in a GOOD way!). How I managed to keep it all a secret I will never know:rotfl:.
I burnt the sprouts but don't like them so not bothered.
Everyone left about 7pm and OH and I snuggled up on Sofa
Edit - Oh and I got spoilt rotten!
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

The worst mis-hap was discovering the x-box had broken! Cue one unhappy son who liked the gifts of a game and head-phones the most and couldn't use either.
Compared to last year when Granny walked out as dinner was being put on plates claiming we were trying to hypnotise by music, having her today was a doddle. We collected her as close to dinner as possible, kept an eye on her so her mind couldn't start rambling and kept the meal simple. My parents were also on stand-by in case things went wrong and were having their meal at a different time to me so someone was always on 'grannywatch'
Shame I didn't give the same attention to detail to the electronics.:rotfl:0 -
Well I'm now in a mood. Over something that probably isn't worthy but it's too late, I'm there. :rotfl:
I've gone over it in my head and see the logical side of things but I'm bugged and there's no shifting it.
I will be spending tomorrow playing host and feeding people. And I didn't want to. (For various reasons.)
OH has said he'll cancel the arrangements (that HE made) but it's done now and for all I think I have cause to moan, it wouldn't be very nice to do so, so I'm stuck with putting on a happy face tomorrow.
But for tonight, it's tripping me.Herman - MP for all!0
