Bedded with the fluey gastric yucky lurgy bug all day
(with the neighbours kitten \\^ . .^//), except for the pressie opening. Couldn't help myself earlier and had a couple of Lindt choccies...tum not happy!!! It's lovely to read all your Crimbo stories. Hoping everyone enjoys the rest of their day and the rest of the Festive Season.

I was thinking about you this morning AJ.
Ours was nice, usually have chilli but as OH is ill decided to cook a veggie roast. Went for an hour's walk after brekkie [which for me was veggie BLT], and then made lunch. Made too much on purpose so that when the OH's DD came over she would have some, and she did. Had kip on the sofa and now eating cookie dough ice cream straight from the pot.
Love it.
*gayleanne - sounds like you need a complete fresh start. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
I was feeling a bit annoyed because my OH cooked a lovely dinner but forgot the pigs in blankets, my favourite bit. Now I have that in perpective. Even positive as we will have them with the leftovers tomorrow, possibly as an extra tasty toad in the hole, so I still have them to look forward to.
Got some lovely presents, not many but really just what I wanted, and had a lovely day.0 -
Well, the day started at 3.30 am with 4 year old foster child grizzling and refusing to settle (has developmental delays so is basically operating as an 18 month old) so no sleep of any note from then on. Dinner was probably the worst one I've ever cooked....don't know why but everything seemed to go wrong. I'm pretty used to cooking for 10 so I can't understand why I struggled so much today - very disappointing.
But my 14 month old granddaughter looked me straight in the eye and said "Grandma" for the first time - then did it again 10 minutes later so it wasn't a fluke!:)0 -
Theres a few with the lurgy best wishes to you all.
Day went very well, DS didnt bother us till gone 8 when we got up - prezzie opening then let the MIL in from her ensuite outhouse !
Fires lit, food cooking quick nap then dinner at just gone 3, pause for a while to remember my FIL who we lost this year raised a toast to him
Now back in front of the fires again watching telly feeling stuffed and having a soft drink as i'm driving tomorrow.
Roll on 10pm .... early night me thinks

Lovely day here. Up around half 8, opened pressies and had breakfast (scrambled egg and salmon parcels) then started on the dinner. Watched lots of films, dinner went smoothly and was YUMMY and we've all been on the sofa since. Nice and relaxed, great day.
Merry Christmas everyone!0 -
Christmas is always a bit of an anticlimax really isn't it.
We did present opening earlier, then OH decided he was going to put his GTA ps2 game on (it wasnt a xmas present or anything) so rather than sit and watch him play a computer game, which to me is the most boring thing on earth, it destroyed any family time as everyone left the room and went to their own various rooms while I did dinner on my own...after dinner the kids washed up and we all tried to play a family game, but OH got up and said ''I can't be bothered playing a game'' and went upstairs to bed. He is still there now and will likely stay all night. Feels to me like he put less than zero effort in to xmas day and made everyone else feel uncomfortable in to the bargain. He does dislike xmas to a certain extent, and is back at work tommorow so think he having a strop over that. urgh
I will leave him to it...Ive got the remote...:)The opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
Didn't sleep well last night for thinking what I had to do today. DH coughing then snoring didn't help . Not feeling tired yet though ! It all went ok but just remembered I forgot to cook the sprouts I had prepared in fridge . I've eaten loads of chocolates, I don't know how I found the room . Feel a bit guilty now . Best wishes to all feeling ill / unhappy .0

I am happy with my day. I got up at 10, woke ds at 11, he jumped in shower while I walked dogs.
His dads sister picked him up at 12 which was a win as it meant I didn't have to deal with ex today. He won't be back until tomorrow night.
I had snacks for lunch and tea. No cooking involved. Dishes in dishwasher. No tv or booze today just reading, a bit of computer time and am planning on going to bed in an hour to watch the news.
I adore my son but as he is home educated I have not had more than a couple of hours without him since last Christmas.
I turned down several invitations from people who can't believe I really wanted to be on my own. Well I do and I really enjoyed it.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0
