Leaving Halifax because they keep blocking my debit card

I switched to Halifax in January and have;
1) Been locked out of my account due to "fraudulent activity"
2) Had contact details removed from online banking for the same reason
3) Been prevented from setting up new payment instructions due to 2
4) Had payments blocked (all to accounts in my name) pending investigation due to "fraudulent activity"
5) Had other payments blocked (again all in my name) for no apparent reason
BUT
1) All issues have been resolved fairly quickly and
2) Where a genuine inconvenience has been experienced (see 1 and 2 above) I have received a goodwill gesture plus money to gover the cost of the call.
Hopefully their security software learns customer habits so will become less suspicious of my activity over time.0 -
I had the same problem whem transferring money from Halifax to a Santander isa. My first transfer from LLoyds went through but after transferring money from Halifax it was blocked and my account restricted until I get a phone call from there fraud team.
I had no problems with that but what really peeeed me off was because it was after 8pm I had to wait till they opened in the morning to get my account access back, surely they should be some 24/7 helpline. only good thing was I got a txt at about 8am to say its been resolved.0 -
If they let payments go through which WERE fraud, I'm sure everyone would complain even more about that!

I have a story! Last year I went on a trip around the world and on the first day of the trip, in Singapore my debit card (Metro Bank) was swallowed by an ATM without ANY explanation. Thank god, the Singapore banking system was very efficient and on the next day, I managed to locate the card. The card was literally in front of me and the only thing required was verbal confirmation from Metro Bank; the exact words from the idiots in their customer service were “Although, I can’t see any reasons to hold your card, I can’t confirm it to the other bank. I can arrange for your bank account manager to give you a call tomorrow, but he can’t call abroad”. How’s that for customer service?!0
