Yes miss ! Me and Mr Nana off to the pics to see new Tom Cruise film. No idea what its about but its Tom Cruise ?? :D Got some cine vouchers to use up. :)

Thats the Jack Reacher film, I'm still undecided about going to see it. I have read the books and although I like Tom I'm just not sure about him playing Jack Reacher.

If anyone's PM'ing me, please can you let me know (by another PM) that you're getting my replies. They keep not being saved in my own 'sent' messages and I'm wary a little at pressing "Submit message" as I am fearing they'll be submitted on here - to this public forum - which the original sender might not want.

I've pressed submit, my reply message is no longer in my box (and hasn't appeared on here) and seems to have gone, but nothing in my sent items.

If you're not currently PM'ing me then please don't all start doing so, as a result of this post, unless you were already going to do so before it appeared, as I wouldn't be able to deal with a deluge of messages. In other words, please just ignore this post if you haven't contacted me by PM.

I have not read anything by Jack Reacher. We were just fed up with rubbish tv and decided to go when I finish work. I think sometimes if you have read stuff the films can be disappointment. (harry potter in some respects and bridget jones just off top of my head)

its hard to stay away from here, I often get more joy help and understanding from everyone on here than my offline pals.

However tragic that may sound. They just don't get me and since I put foot down and stopped me the one who helped everyone else. I get a lot less contact, funny that ???

I thought I was just me that had happened to!
A few of my off line 'friends' no longer speak to me since I stopped helping them out. I used to look after their kids after school, give them their tea and help with homework while they were at work. That stopped quite soon after DH died because when I needed help with DS only one of them was good enough to help me so I still help her out and have her DD overnight if she needs to work.
The others have asked if I'll look after their kids again but I've always said no because I have a lot more freedom now. The good friend I have doesn't take the Micky, she has arranged work around school hours so it's very rare she needs me but we see each other when she picks her DD up from after school club and occasionally go out for dinner with the kids.

I must admit the challenges I've faced over the past 20 months have made me realise who in my life is an asset and who has been a user and therefore a hindrance to my family happiness. Needless to say I have lost a lot of so called friends but those that I still have are fantastic but even a few of them think I'm mad with the glitches etc. :rotfl:

What I do, is get a couple of items of shopping, like bread, fruit etc, whatever I actually need.

Then put everything on the conveyor belt but before the sa starts to scan I ask for maybe £5 or £10 to be put on my gift card. Then the shopping is scanned and I pay for everything, (shopping and money on gift card) with apg;s.

Done this quite a few times now and never had a problem.

Thanks I will try that next time I go to Asda. I usually choose a young man as they dont care. I went to Mr T to get some more Allessi cutlery today. I bought the serving spoons @£49.99 together with pint of milk and some ice cream. I gave the young man my £5.00 morrisons voucher and asked him to scan it before he did the cutlery vouchers. He scanned it but said he had to take it after the other vouchers. So I said ok and he handed it back to me and then did the cutlery vouchers. I then paid £2.59 for all three items. Receipt showed 1p for the cutlery.
So I thought maybe this is a glitch and went round again and this time it worked properly and I was able to use my £5.00 Morrisons voucher. So cutlery for £2.49.
All I can think is he scanned the card thing for the cutlery and not the actual cutlery.

    Oh SD, its not easy.

Mine happened when DD was very sick(breaks my heart just typing it) and not one person sent her so much as a card out of the lot I considered friends so I flipped and that was it. I dont even send their kids birthday cards anymore.

I got support from very unexpected places. And when OH was sick last year it just made me know I had made right decision. I came on here looking for financial help, get the shopping bill down and found the Elite. Stalked for a few months then joined. It was Happy Chappys antics that got me hooked.

The rest they say is history :)
