My MIL loathed and hated me always and didn't think much of her eldest son but when she had her diagnosis it was us she turned to for help. It turned us and our lives upside down for the few weeks she lasted but in an odd way I still think it was an honour and a privilege that she choose us to help her through the process. It was us sat with her as she lay dying, not her friends or the favourite son or his family, just us.

It is always the way, my mum was the black sheep of her family always looked down on, yet when my nan and grandad both became ill (different times) and needed caring for she was the one who did it all. And was left to do it all, people know who they can really rely on when push comes to shove.

Well done you for being so forgiving and caring.xxx

Good morning all, just caught up. QPR10, so sorry for your loss, sending hugs.
Nikkilala, happy anniverary to you and your DH.
I'm off for a browse round the shops with DH today, and may treat us to a nice lunch somewhere.
I managed to get a big whole Gressingham duck really cheap in S last night. Does anyone have any good recipes for duck? DH pulled a face when I told him I'd bought it, so need something tasty to encourage him to try it. His mum was 'a plain cook' and it's taken me 30 years to get him to eat anything with garlic, onion, chilli etc in it. He will even eat curry and really spicy chilli now, but has it with potato, as he still won't eat rice. He hates it, and pasta too. Any ideas for the duck will be gratefully received.
Off to shower and get ready to go out now. See ya all later.

When I met my hubby there were so many veg that he wouldn't eat, cabbage, cauliflower, onions (will now eat diced in curries or chinese type meals but not big bits).

When one of his friends and I wanted a chinese when we were just going out with each other he made us hold it outside the car so he didn't have to smell it on the way home (He eats chinese and Indian now bless him but I love telling that story!):rotfl:

Having sold the BM scheme on here, I'm thinking of giving up BM/APG etc. unless there is a glitch that compares to cheaper than it 'should'. Just seen Boots reduce to 54p the Radox Bath Salts I compared A £1 to rival £1 for 90p. And Lidl have now reduced to £1 the bacon I bought a couple of weeks ago for £1.99. Tsskkk...

I'm still doing it wrong. I think T's DTD is better - I need to wait till the items on my 'vs T' lists go up in price at T then find those that have the old price still on the shelf. Although I do (normally) have a knack of picking up items at cheaper prices immediately before they rocket up in price never to return back down. Bought some Sugar Puffs earlier in the year, an impulse purchase (of sorts) as I walked past a rack with it in - knew it was N/A in that size at the rival I was comparing to so used it as a 'filler' item. It far more than doubled in price the following day. Can't remember at the moment what else I got that also increased in price at Sada the day after I bought it. But did do a Sains BM (vs A) where I bought some Pick N Mix, some PG Tips and some chorley cakes. All three increased in price at A - the pick n mix went from £2 to over £4 - and the PG up by £2 - on the day or the day after my shop!

I don't usually get any price promises but I think they have changed recently, don't hink you need the receipt anymore it works with just the barcode on the price promise.
