Because tragic mistakes do happen, and I agree it is absolutely disgraceful, but there are ten of thousands of Elderly that are looked after really well on a free national health service under pressure to deliver everyday. I understand the personal anguish but you are then slagging off every hospital, therefore every nurse, doctor etc. just not an accurate statement. A number of bad experiences does not give you the right to a sweeping ridiculous putting down of the NHS
no, im slagging off the system and btw it aint free to me or mine! my sis is a nurse and she never gets a lunch break! I know they work hard and do long shitfs. Sis worksc 12 hr shifts. Its down to goverment funding. You cant run a hospital on a shoe string!0 -

Morning all, im looking at buying a sdhc memory card. I noticed that some are class 4 and some class 10, does anyone know the difference or which is the best for a camera? Thanks fernie x
There are plenty of good deals about for SDHC cards. Look to pay £0.50 - £1 per GB of storage.
The 8GB and 16GB cards are probably the best value at the moment, and will hold LOADS of pictures. No need for bigger, unless you are taking a lot of movie footage. Maybe have a few smaller cards, in case you lose or corrupt one. Better to lose a smaller card than a bigger one with loads of pictures not yet backed up ...
Avoid the Supermarkets and Electrical shops (Currys, PC World etc) as they are VERY expensive for exactly the same items.
Stick to the know brands (such as Sandisk, Kingston, Integral)
Do look on Amazon, but stick to Amazon 'proper' as the seller to ensure you are getting a legitimate item and not a 'fake' (they often don't work, or do not have the memory capacity that they are marked as).
For the speed rating - The 'Class 10' cards are 'higher speed', in other words they read and write to the card quicker than the Class 6 or Class 4 cards.
But, unless you are taking (a lot of) movies, or continuous action shots, a Class 4 will do fine. Also, if your camera cannot make use of the Class 10 speed, there is no point anyway. Having said that, there is only a few £'s in it if you get from the right place.
For most 'compact' cameras, a Class 4 is fine. For the 'pukka' Digital SLR's, you may want one Class 10 card for the high speed use, and then cheaper Class 4 for day-to-day use.0 -

you will be pleased to hear this is my last post on the NHS. When my Dad was under their care, he waa often neglected. My sis (nurse but works in different hospital) would check his notes every day when she visited him. She would often spot mistakes and pull them up on it. His BP was dangerously low one day and when sis asked why nothing had been done about it they didnt have an answer. This is just one example. I could fill a whole page but I wont. May be if I wasnt on my phone I might have done!0

I think its a combination of both! good luck to your DD0 -

Thanks for this, i followed other advise from here too. I have ordered from amazon a 16gb class 10 for £8.50ish. The camera that dh bought me for christmas was Panasonic Lumix LZ20, wanted one for a few years now, but the thought of spending that much money on myself:eek: could not do it!!
Been really spoilt, he got me a Kindle fire too :T0
