you will be pleased to hear this is my last post on the NHS. When my Dad was under their care, he waa often neglected. My sis (nurse but works in different hospital) would check his notes every day when she visited him. She would often spot mistakes and pull them up on it. His BP was dangerously low one day and when sis asked why nothing had been done about it they didnt have an answer. This is just one example. I could fill a whole page but I wont. May be if I wasnt on my phone I might have done!

Thanks, sorry for your experiences. My Dad passed away in hospital in July and was treated with dignity and care, they couldn't have done more. I have many other examples.

And the fact that the majority of users of the system have never paid a penny into the system in their life.

Not always so, the elderly in hospitals and care homes now are the ones who left school and started work at 14 who, through their contributions to the tax system have more than paid their dues.

My m-i-l went into hospital for the final few weeks of her life, she had been a nurse all of her working life so the current system of standards of the NHS to her was appalling.

Very fortunatley one of the girls she had worked with was on duty on that ward so at least she had a familar face to talk to. There was only 2 night staff - the other a male nurse had almost no English.

She was extremley agitated so they had sedated her for the final few days. On the last day no one had noticed when she was coming out of sedation until we came to visit in the evening and she was thrashing about in the bed, so someone eventually came to top up her meds. My s-i-l, also a nurse, checked her over and said she was getting bed sores as she had not been turned.

Mercifully she died overnight, on an open ward, just the curtains around her, no privacy

Vegas is like Disneyworld for adults, have you been before? Have you checked out the Vegas thread on here in the Overseas holiday section, they have fantastic tips. I ahve only been once back around 2000 and loved it, I would love to go back.

Ive not been but dont know if you remember, my OH won a trip to Vegas jan this yr, a bit of a busmans holiday. He loved he and says i will. No one knows me better! We have booked a limo to pick us up at airport, take us to the bureau to collect licence, then to hotel. Limo picks us up on day of wedding, to chapel, to heli pad, heli over canyon with picnic kindly supplied by kiss laid, mainly smuggled hedgehogs with pneapple and cheese, then sunset over the strip in heli if we arent arrested for animal cruelty, back to limo, limo to eiffel for dinner. Then bed. I will be knackered obviously by then:A
Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.
