I had a productive weekend sold somethings on ebay yesterday, only made £22.00. Today I went to the local Asian supermarket and bought 10kg of long grain rice £10.95 and 5kg of chicken fillets £17.50, I thought this was a good deal. Also bought curry sauce, peppers, naan bread all cheaper than Mr S and Mr T. I now have enough rice to last me the year and I've just made a gorgeous chilli con carne for tomorrow nights dinner.

amr547 - I work one job 37.5 hrs per week, by friday I'm wrecked and wouldn't have the energy to work a second job.

Winnie in pooh - Pay of the debt first. You'll feel so much better when it's all cleared.

I've just been having a discussion with the OH re: farmers market...both of us have decided we've never tasted carrotier carrots than the ones we get from our farmer although we have no idea how much 3 carrots should cost...does anyone know the price of carrots?

  • feeling positive, so this week, managed 30mins overtime at my main job,and 4.5 hour shift at the second job (doesn't sound like much but its good rates at the weekend). went out to a surprise birthday party and drove so only spent £5 although to be honest would have preferred not to spend that! I have come up with an idea to earn a bit of extra cash but may have to have a small out lay approx £5 to see if it works, on top of the 2 jobs!!. Although hoping my eyesight holds out with the brain tumor (benign) its terrible lately, but finally get to go back to the hospital on tuesday which hopefully they will start me on some medication to start shrinking it then. Bit bummed out as that will add a monthly cost of a prescription to my outgoings for the rest of my life lol. (fingers crossed it doesn'taffect my ability to drive otherwise I will be stuffed)
Been up to my house and taken all the plaster off in one of the bedrooms (its only a 2 bed) but hopefully this room will be completed by the end of january making the march deadline of moving in quite realistic.
Starting to get a pileof items ready to sellon ebay and been looking at selling afew old mobiles which will give me moremoeny than I expected really. Has anyone sold their mobiles to one ofthe common sites?? whats their definition of working i.e. does it have to make calls or does that mean that if it switches on it works??
Also does anyone know if any sites by broken tablets??
I have been finding using a diary helpful to write down all my spending, it has been keeping me motivated to try and not spend anything unless absolutely necessary!!
Very positive smiley week this week going to post my payments etc towards the end of the month.

They're 9p each at Mr T (although they are not the carrotiest tasting things I have ever tasted that is for sure!

Well I've finished my night shifts for a while thank god! I'm absolutely shattered and have eaten loads of sweets and rubbish while I've been at work so am not looking forward to my weigh in tomorrow morning but we shall see how it goes!

Seen as I managed to clear my CC and have money saved this month so far AND be waiting on more refund money turning up in my account I bought myself some fancy new shoes for my leaving do :D They're the only thing I've bought in the sales this year which is unprecedented for me, and I've covered them with ebay money so even though they were quite expensive they do feel like a treat I have earned rather than yet another thing I've bought and shoved on a card/cleared my savings out for which is weird but good! :o

  • This week gets better before I tellyou whats just happen I would like to stress in no way am I advocating that gambling is a sensible way or should be considered as a way of trying to earn extra money, but anyway here goes: I've just realisedthat I had an account with a popular gambling company (also just want to add that nopne of my debt is as a result of gambling) and there was a small amount of money in there that I wanted to withdraw and close the account down, however because this was less that £5 it wqouln't let me do it. So I thought that I would entertain myself and have a go at the bingo, I bought 6 tickets at 5p each totalling 30p, I've just won and drawn out £27.50 on my first go! which is getting paid off the credit card as we speak!!!!! Account now firmly closed but it has just made me smile!! Maybe this challenge is more do-able than I think, rollon xmas 2013!!!!!
  • Just a quick question - how do you work out/record how much you've paid off your total when surely the total keeps changing each month due to interest being charged monthly etc?

When I did the challenge last year I only 'announced' an update once a month. That means that I could include all payments made in that month as well as any extra interest accrued.
    I was a DFW, now I'm a MFW :T
  • Boo - back from 2 weeks at my parents. Someone go back to work for me? Back to normality again though, which is not a bad thing!

Can we keep fingers crossed, as this week my first pay review will be getting approved, and I'll find out if I'm getting one or not!
