Lol, I can not multi-task when I am sorting out the postage. I take the sold item and the postage labels into a different room when I pack them up to prevent the wrong thing falling into the package :D

It is sounding like my OCD might extend to more than numbers!!

No I have to do this too! I don't think of myself as an obsessive person at all but I am with numbers and things that I might !!!! up :rotfl::rotfl:

Once upon a time there was a daddy chicken and a mummy chicken, they loved each other very much....

A spend day today, but a planned spend day. When the OH wakes up we're going to the Sunday Farmers Market for our veg & eggs, then we're going to go to Mr S for the weekly food shop. We've made a list and we're sticking to it, I hope!

We let a friend stay over last night so he could go on a date and at 3am he came crashing in like a herd of elephants, well lesson learned don't let people stay if you're not going out with them. Poor OH finally fell asleep at 6:30am, he doesn't take too well to being woken up mid-sleep!

Have fun at the farmers market! I'm the same as your OH when it comes to sleep, I end up wanting to sleep so much that I can't.

Hi amr547, looks like a good plan of action, though if the DMP companies have accepted the payment plan, it means interest will have been frozen. If you have something with a high interest, I'd pay it off before making settlement offers.

Everything except my BL is 0% :j BL will be gone hopefully in February! Depends what crops up between now and then, and of course need to make sure I've got around £700 to pay off my car insurance in March

Right then, sausage casserole for tea, but my potatoes have got a bit manky .... so it's off to FarmFoods to pick up a small bag! (walking, not going in the car!! need to stop being lazy)
  • Morning all,

Feeling a tad demotivated at the moment following a rather frank conversation with DH last night about the pro's and con's of having savings while paying off debt.

I'm of the opinion that so long as we have a big enough emergency pot in case the car blows up or the washing machine goes caput that any extra money should be paid off the debt. He is of the opinion that we should pay the minumum on the debts and then split our excess income 50/50 between savings and overpayments.

My way will have us debt free by at least Xmas this year, if not before. His way will have us debt free at some point in 2015.

I'd appreciate your opinions on this?

    Win x
  • My view on the debt v savings is, if the interest on the debt is higher than the interest from the savings, pay the debt.
