Is the roll of honor just in here?
Mini Cooper is covering the thread now and will post on here for you when she's online next time.
Spagbol will add you to the list on the first page when she gets a break from baby as she's the OP and the only person who can edit it.0 -

Roll of honour please? I will be back in 2014 with a slightly higher amount to clear off the credit card and small amount still left to pay dad. But actually reaching this amount is a great wee boost and motivating me to continue!
Sincere apologies for the delay - dropped the ball last week, and have no excuse, Spag is the one who was 9 months pregnant! :rotfl:watched something really depressing last night from money weekly, they are predicting increases in interest rates from 2015, claim that Britain is already bankrupt. I've seen it forcast that interest rates will increase, dates given have been from 2016 to 2020. When ever it starts, its going to get horrible
I don't have much savings so that side wont affect me, but the interest rates on mortgages will cripple me. Really need to get a move on with my increased payments each month.
That sounds really scary! I really hope I can get myself somewhere on the housing market by then, with a fixed rate mortgage that can't be hit. I hope it's all just speculation, like how they always talk about a risk of snow and it very rarely comes.Hi there everyone
I started the year on about £16k of debt which now currently stands at £9k. Not only this but I've had some big things happen, I've had to deal with a burglary (now insured), starting a full-time degree on a secondment with work, move in with my other-half and lose entitlement to tax credits (yay). All these things happened and I still managed to clear £7k.
UPDATE
#142 £7k paid
(over challenge period)
Looking forward to starting the next challenge. Congrats to the new and pending arrivals.
Well done on paying off so much! That's nearly the halfway mark, and if you can pay off that much despite all the financial hiccups, I'm sure you can manage to get a house deposit together in no time!0 -
Carbon monoxide alarms can be picked up for around a tenner we have one for £25. I would have bought it myself by now if I were you, then just are it with you. Better safe than sorry
Yes, we probably should just go for it. I'm just waiting for the council to confirm it's a minimum requirement, because then I can deduct the money from our rent.triple_choc_chip wrote: »Spagbol will add you to the list on the first page when she gets a break from baby as she's the OP and the only person who can edit it.
I don't know if she's still updating the roll of honour on the front page. But we can probably get a couple of people with admin rights next year. I think you can set the new thread up with extra admins, but you can't retrospectively add anyone.0 -

lol no worries, i didnt even know there was a roll of honour :rotfl:
The video does sound scary, and according to it, they predicted the crash in 2005/6 and a few other things. But then again, it was a bit of promotion to buy their magazine, so u need to take it with a pinch of salt. I liked it as it explained the economics as though to a child, who was actually interested in learning it! The reason i mentioned it was because its not the first place i have heard what they are saying, and i am not even looking for this info!Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

Looks like it! I really want to get on the property ladder, but I'm like you - will be ready to buy in 2015-16. It's probably a reasonable time to buy, we will know by then whether the housing bubble will burst...
Interestingly, I spoke to an acquaintance who works for a developers, he mentioned that they are really struggling to get certain materials to build with at the moment, because all the factories that make the supplies have shut down. By 2015, they will either have run out of bricks, or the factories will start up again, and houses will be pouring out.0 -

We'll just have to wait and see what happens  it's rather scary though!0 -
