So looking forward to starting!
Of course you can join, welcome  I will get you a number later when I dig the laptop out. You can either tell me how much you want to pay off in total, or set a target for Christmas if you'd prefer. We don't have a 2014 thread yet, will probably set something up around Christmas.
kerri sounds like you guys were really fortunate! That is quite dodgy... I hope you get it sorted. Unfortunately it's just not likely our guy was just looking for shelter - our garden is really far back from the street (around 30m)
We're pretty sure it was a one-off now though, and he wasn't casing the joint! I've lived in a flat before where we had people using the close every night, so i,'m possibly paranoid from that.
While the credit card was out, I also had to pay for a cookery class coming up in January, and need to renew my professional subscription, and buy some new glasses. I can see myself having to take a bit of a chunk out of my deposit fund to pay for it all...0 -
Moneysavingmomma you are number 193. Let me know what you want to target! The easiest thing is if I get you on this years thread, and then you can opt in to the new thread when it's set up.0

I went to the bank last night and checked the account that i dont use, it currently has £1020 sitting in it. my regular savings has £605.21, soo buy that count, I have reached my target of £1600 to pay my dad for my car!
I am still going to reach as close to £2000 as possible by end of year.
I'm hoping I've not missed something here... I'm trying to update the spreadsheet, and have noticed that your goal was £1600 so congratulations for hitting it! Are you wanting to increase that to £2000? Or do you want me to add you to the roll of honour?
Sorry if I'm a little slow on the uptake here!0 -
I'll wait until the DFBXMAS14 thread to declare my new amount to pay off I think0

Just as I was over the whole stranger in the garden thing, someone who live a couple of streets away has just shared on FB that she came downstairs in the wee hours of last night to find a couple of burglars in her house!
I'm looking forward to 2014 as well - it promises to be an expensive one but I am confident it's the year I get my life (and finances) in order!0 -
Hello all! Sorry for not checking in but baby Spagbol arrived on Tuesday and I have been in a baby whirlwind since then
He is totally scrumptious and a very good boy, I will try and work out how to post a picture later
Debtwise DH got to do his freelance work things before baby arrived so we are expecting enough of a payout to pay off the extra car debt we accrued this year and get to a few thousand paid off on this challenge. Next year will be slow repayment wise but hopefully DH will get some good commission from his new job to overpay CCs a bit. I will also get selling the pregnancy/baby stuff as we outgrow it.DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0
