    January sales!

Stefthewise good luck for the final push :T If you're like my work, we get our January pay on Christmas eve, I hope that will help you!

I've just picked out my courses for our Christmas lunch next month, it's going to be here in no time

That's what I was thinking !! but lets face it do sales even exist anymore :rotfl:

ooh i picked mine last month! i'm looking forward to it though

Yeah it was nearly impossible to choose as well, like we know what we'll be in the mood for next month! I think when the OH comes to visit, I'm going to take him to this restaurant for dinner so I can try some of the other options.

I did ask someone in PC world whether it was worth holding out for the sales, and they said it's not really worth it so much. They just bring out different laptops, it's not the same one at a cheaper price.
  • It makes me sad to think people are hiding away from us because they don't want to say they've fallen a bit behind, or they're not where they want to be.

Oh, totally, but there's only so many times one can post "still in debt. etc", you know?

I am very jealous! I really [STRIKE]need[/STRIKE] want a new laptop/tablet but the old one still technically works, it's just not very fast anymore...I keep resisting the temptation to go into a shop and get them to tell me all the specs of things just for fun.

Some good news here though: my accountant sent a draft of our tax returns for us to sign, and the estimated return is more than our debt! That's significantly more than I thought we'd get, should've used an accountant years ago. Of course, by the time it comes through we'll have paid tradespeople for various things as well, but it's SUCH a relief nonetheless.

    Onwards everyone!

Oh I wish I could still claim back tax! The only way I'll be allowed to claim anything is if I lose my job, so I won't wish too hard... Can you only claim one year at a time then? Over here I think we can claim for around 5 years. Sounds like it could be worth it if you can?

I'm getting a little bored of simply putting money aside each month, and think I need to set myself a challenge. I'm going to give myself £50 to last to the end of the month, and see how I get on - that will mean I have lots more cash to get through December, which is looking like an expensive month even if you ignore Christmas! The budget won't include Christmas presents though.

    Hi Guys!!

I've not left you!! I've had the worst couple of weeks money wise ever....:eek:

Firstly the tax man took over half my wages last month and there was a technicality in getting my student bursary. So ive not been able to make a debt payment this month.

I've had to lend money off my sister and i've even had to use my credit card which i'm not happy about too.

I thought I would be able to be debt free next month too but it doesn't look like it. Christmas is a no-no too :(:(

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

    Rant over!
    In debt no more!
  • Well done muppets :j
