Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2013

It's probably a good idea, even if the debts are interest free. It would probably help your credit rating, and as you say, it will let you save a bigger chunk each month ( which will help if anything else breaks). I hate having lots of payments going out, it's easy to pose track of them all.
Glad the OH has settled in to his new job spag!0 -

O/H thinks its a good idea tooso i think that's going to be my plan of action!
i am the same - my OU fees alone are £100 p/m!!! it's worth it though - its my final course and i shall be graduating if i passnot many people can say they held down a full time job while studying for a degree too. it will have taken my 4 years in total to complete my degree which is only 1 more year than most people, but then i also have 3.5 years of experience in my industry under my belt as well, which many people i know who have just graduated, don't have.

Bah, I'm going backwards. Too depressed to update, which is why I'm so quiet! Have taken on an extra day of work per week all this month, which is great, but the extra money won't come until the end...and in the meantime I'm paying the extra nursery fees x two children in advance. And we're getting the house ready for sale, which seems to involve buying a lot of new tools and paint and hiring tradesmen to fix things that we've been successfully ignoring for ten years. I don't at all think we'll recoup the losses, but DH won't be swayed.
Just worked out that after Thursday, when mine and DH's pays go in for the fortnight, we'll be pretty much exactly where my signature says we were last month, and that's before I pay several thousand to the electrician and the carpenter...
On the bright side, both DDs birthday presents (December babies) are done, well, once I finish building this dollshouse, as are about a third of the Christmas presents and all decorations, and it's a cheap year this year, we're sharing a Christmas with a good friend and doing half the lunch each, no air fares for once. And our tax return is due back soon. None of that comes close to the upcoming expenses, but it'll just have to mitigate it a bit.

Well done Muppets! You're not content to just pay it all off, you're still going! I'll be excited to see where you end up at the end of the year.
Is that all the mortgage paid off too, or was that just a normal payment?0 -
Sorry to hear the money isn't going to far armchairexpert, but don't forget to remind yourself that you are managing to pay for all this without putting yourself into more debt. That's pretty fantastic if you ask me :T0
