Ah yes but...with fees and interest etc. we only paid off £14k. I say only...I'm still very chuffed with that but I was actually being a bit dishonest :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Evening everyone o/

Gosh, just spent nearly half an hour catching up on this thread! Apologies in advance if I've missed any congrats, get wells or commiserations Congrats to everyone who's made a payment.:T I've made my first payment this year #073 £240/£24199 :j

Hope you're on the mend now SpagBol.

I was so pleased to get back to work today, left Mr H looking after kids for a change, my house is only still in one piece cause he took the out for the day!:rotfl: Kids have been going a bit stir crazy..these school holidays are way too long!

Had a bit of a crisis 2 nights ago as Mr H can't seem to see sense in having a budget written down and making the adjustments on a monthly basis , I ended up in tears and feeling frustrated. I've come back to it tonight and decided since he pays most of the main bills and I look after shopping fuel etc, I can do a budget using my own wages n bills. I also get fed up when we go shopping together, I end up spending way more than I planned or needed to thanks to the extra additions in the trolley! any tips as to how to stop this? (or maybe I should just shop on my own!) Car needs some work doing but have some cash put aside for this.

Anyway, determined to have money left over this month plus as a boost, I've just remembered we have no council Tax or water bill payments in Feb & March :T, so hopefully bigger payments to debts those months. :T

Anyway...off out for the evening to spend some time with girlie mates, hae a great evening all.

    HP xx

  • Slagoil! (snurk!) I've decided to change my target to full amount....obviously I won't clear it and will still only aim for 10K, but in for a penny, might as well be in for the lot. Can you amend my target to 39,936.61 please? #007

 <---- me, looking at that total.

Well OH and I are looking at our finances in a completely new way from this month, this is our trial month! Everything is going into the joint account and then from there we have everything budgeted to the extent that we don't need to spend money on anything else. It's really scary and we're going to use the envelope system for awhile to make sure we get ourselves into the habit of budgeting. He's off to get this weeks budget in a little bit and anytime we buy anything the receipt goes in the appropriate envelope. At the end of the week I'm going to write down all the receipts into a spreadsheet then half of what is left goes towards my cc and the other half goes towards our annual spends/savings. Eventually anything leftover will go towards our annual spends/savings. Scary but exciting!

Anyway, I've made some payments towards my cc as I had a refund go back onto it:
    #005 £45.20/£2606.97 1.73%

Finally broken the 1% barrier woohoo.

I like this idea of taking all the money out that is variable ie food & petrol. But I do worry that we don't have any with us, or don't have enough, because hubby has some....it will take some thinking but I like this idea.

Lol you know it makes sense Rodders :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Consider it done!

In all seriousness, last year I started off with a £10k target and thought "what the hell" and made it £58k...the %age went up v v slowly but it certainly motivated me every time I typed it!
