  • Congrats Kerri :j:j You've worked so hard - hope you enjoy your J20!

I've realised I need to somehow save around £15k to be able to pay for everything I want to save for just now - house deposit, eye surgery, car upgrade, trip to the states. I understand why so many people get credit instead - it'll take me about 5 years to save that much!

Just running in before I head to the pub for celebratory J20 with the OH (will buy him a pint) to say I'm debt free :D Used the money from my Grandad to pay off my debt, I still have £2k in savings, not quite as much as the £4.6k but it's still more than I had when I was in debt :D:D:D now to go confess to the OH. I shall buy him his pint first.

Congratulations Kerri!!! I'm super pleased for you. Please say you are staying on here though? I miss people like Jemma and Jakesmum posting :( I don't want more people to go. I'll be here for a while :D

Don't worry guys and gals I'm not going anywhere, I need you all to keep me on the straight and narrow :) I feel like I've cheated using this money my Dad gave me (it was his inheritance from my Grandad but he paid £4600 to clear my sisters debt so gave me the same to save for a house). So I need to set my savings target at £4600 first please. I am going to be a little naughty and order myself a pair of boots and a couple of jumpers first, then I'll get onto the savings bandwagon. I've not had any new clothes (other than a few maxi dresses in the summer) for the entire 2 years we've been doing this thread, and I'm desperate to stop looking slobby.

I really need to update my total and see EXACTLY what i have to pay off. Some debts are almost gone but others have increased as a result of shifting some stuff around.
I can't wait to finish paying rent arrears and wedding dress money to parents as that will give me extra for my debts! :-)

I kinda took it for granted that you would be sticking around, so glad you are! Enjoy the new clothes :)
