  • Hi Peeps, haven't checked in with you all for a while, hope you're all ok? Anyway a little announcement from the Lemonpop house- we've paid off our mortgage :j . My in-laws moved to be near us from a big house to a slightly smaller/ much cheaper house and gave all their children 50k each! So we paid off our 30k mortgage and will have the roof sorted, yippee. Thanks so much for the support to become debt free and now mortgage free, you're all so lovely to each other XX
Good luck to all the ladies cooking babies (seems to be at least half of you!) :heartsmil

Yes, they're in their eighties and wanted to see us enjoying their money before the inevitable happens. I hope I can do the same for my boys when I'm older.

amr at least they are sending someone out to give you a second opinion, I don't know if I'd hold my breath on getting a new one though... I wondered if it would be safe to wrap an old duvet around the water tank to help insulate it? It must be possible to get some cheap insulation if not.

My housemate is moving out, and I'm a little tempted to take over his room. My room is fine, but the wall through to the neighbours is really thin, and I'm tired of being woken up all the time. It's £30/m extra for the sake of a lie in, when I'm also potentially (hopefully) moving in a few months, so I can't decide if it's worth it.

Yep, I think new insulation on the tank could be the cheaper solution. It costs £15 in B&Q for a jacket!!

    Hello

I sold a pair of jeans on ebay at the weekend so I have just made another small payment.

    Total now #11 - £9536.76 / £10,224 = 93.28% :money:

Glad you like your new house Kerri :D

Is moving to a new room for a few months worth the upheaval minicooper? The answer may well be yes, only you will know :D

32b3 I honestly have no idea. Suppose I can write a pro/con list!

amr that's what savings are for! I do have a separate 'emergency' savings pot for things like that, as it just helps me to budget better.
