Hi Peeps, haven't checked in with you all for a while, hope you're all ok? Anyway a little announcement from the Lemonpop house- we've paid off our mortgage :j . My in-laws moved to be near us from a big house to a slightly smaller/ much cheaper house and gave all their children 50k each! So we paid off our 30k mortgage and will have the roof sorted, yippee. Thanks so much for the support to become debt free and now mortgage free, you're all so lovely to each other XX

I wondered if it would be safe to wrap an old duvet around the water tank to help insulate it? It must be possible to get some cheap insulation if not.
My housemate is moving out, and I'm a little tempted to take over his room. My room is fine, but the wall through to the neighbours is really thin, and I'm tired of being woken up all the time. It's £30/m extra for the sake of a lie in, when I'm also potentially (hopefully) moving in a few months, so I can't decide if it's worth it.
Yep, I think new insulation on the tank could be the cheaper solution. It costs £15 in B&Q for a jacket!!0 -

Is moving to a new room for a few months worth the upheaval minicooper? The answer may well be yes, only you will know

32b3 I honestly have no idea. Suppose I can write a pro/con list!
amr that's what savings are for! I do have a separate 'emergency' savings pot for things like that, as it just helps me to budget better.0 -
