Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2013

Just got an email from my Bank saying that there is a form to fill in to change the payment to weekly, and can we come in or do we want them to post it to us, they have said once it's signed (we will go in and do it on Saturday morning) it will change to weekly once the next scheduled payment goes out next week, so it will start from the 31st May.
I am going to pay extra this week to try and get ahead of it, then once it's changed to weekly we should really start to see the balance drop as we will be obviously making 4 payments rather than 2 per month so the interest will be effected too!:TTrying to be debt free by the end of 2016 :j0 -

When you want to turn it on again, you press the standby button on the remote, and it will turn everything on again. Fabulous little thing, because you can also plug your sky box in the side, and it turns that off too! Just found them for about £5 inc P&P on eBay, and recommend them for that price!
Big hello to Cannucksfan - I'm glad to hear the little one is doing well. I was thinking to myself he must be about 3 months old now, then I realised it's actually MAY now  Where has the year gone?
Another big hello to Jemma - it's good to hear from you! Glad to hear you've been enjoying yourself for a while - you definitely deserve it! Hope you had a lovely last day, and have a great time ahead in the family business!
I haven't heard of a power down I will have a look

just also cut the virgin bill in half!!! :money: that will save us a small amount but it all adds up!
Amr, how did you cut your bill in half. My contract is at an end in 20 days so want to make as much saving as possible on it.
I think I'm going to look at that powerdown plug too. Sounds like a really good idea for very little money.2017 ChallengesDFBX17 #14 £70.14/£21,321Xmas 2017 #37 £0/£352

nothing exciting really, we had sky sports so we got rid of that, also had larger packages than we needed for tv and phone so we downgraded those too so in all we save about £40 a month. :T of course i'm sure OH will want sky sports back in a few months when football starts again :mad:0 -

You should look for a better deal elsewhere, tell V what the better deal is, and they will usually try to match it. Threatening to leave is always a good way to get money off.
I really would also recommend the power down - it was a must-have in house shares, as there is always someone that doesn't believe in turning the TV off properly  They're about £20 direct, but if you can get it for less, then it will pay for itself after a year or two.
I am off home tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it - but have no idea whether I will feel more or less homesick after a visit! My friend is having a house warming, and she works in a similar industry, so at the very least I hope I can make some contacts to hand my CV to in a few months... It might all rest on my cocktail making skills :rotfl:0
