Yes, thank goodness. 0% for 22 months. Am transferring 1000 off the worst credit card too. Our credit rating has been rubbish for ages, not because we've missed payments,'because we haven't, but just our general level of debt I think, so to be accepted for a new card is fab!

Yay :j Your credit must be improved because you've paid some off, I think the percentage of debt used to that available and also how much you paid off in the last 12 months are both used to calculate your credit rating.

Brilliant result to start the new year! Well done! I'm too scared to try for a new credit card, but I guess I could have a go and see what happens. It would be good to get 0% on balance transfers and then pay the rest of it on my current cc. Bit of good news though. I recieved £600 more from my work! Not sure how or why at the moment, so I'll need to check. I wouldn;t want to spend something that isn't mine! I am ging up to the next pay threshold, so it could be back pay for the year. If so at least £400 is going straight on the cc!

Well done on the pay increase, that's fab :T

I'm the same now! I can estimate how much it will be, but I'm going to wait for the statements. I think it will be more satisfying that way.

I paid off my PAD of £5.55 so I'm still on track to PAD £200 and this means reducing my debt by 5% of my goal this month.

(I posted this on Pay off as Much as YOu Can thread by accident!)

Thanks SpagBol! AS I said before, hoping it's not an error!
So I was brave and applied for a long term 0% balance transfer cc, was accepted and was given more credit than what I thought, so I may be able to transfer a little more to the new cc, pay off the old one and be a little finacially better. Last time I tried to apply I was rejected so I'm really happy that my situation is gradually improving. :D

Well done, getting 0% deals really helps. Don't forget to shut down or reduce the balance of the old one or cut it up though, I spent years transferring then running up the balances again :(

I just checked the snowball calculator and I would need to pay off £1000 a month to reach my goal this year (this is before interest). This is a bit of a push but it would make such a difference to us. I don't want to overdo the challenges yet so I'll see where I stand at the end of this month and try to manage it! Even if it's less than that it will be much more than I've paid off my debt in a long time.

I was extremely naughty at Waitr0se today :o they had all their christmas chocolates reduced and I kind of ended up buying 9 x Large tubes of pink smarties (34p each), 4 x large tubes white buttons(34p each), 6 bags chocolate santas (25p each), a bag of L*ndt balls (50p) and what must be 30 odd aer0 trees/gal*xy presents and Qual*ty street purples (16p each) :o

In my defence the bags of santas and some of the tubes are for Miss Lilys birthday party bags in 2 weeks as with approx 32 kids coming it was the cheapest way to choc up the bags . . . and all the trees/gal*xy are for my *shop* for when the kids run out of christmas stuff ;) . . . . everything else . . . . . umm . . . . well . . . . *ahem* moving along . . . . :rotfl:

Don't get too bogged down with the will-I-won't-I pay it all off by Xmas 2013. There's quite a few of us on here who did this challenge last year and didn't manage to pay off ALL our debt by Xmas 2012. What we did do though was pay off MUCH MORE debt than we thought we could/would. I know there are some people on here who won't pay off their debt this year but are still here for the motivation.

Pay off what you can and be proud of yourself for every payment you make xx

Can I join too please. I have been lurking around on the past tread getting alot of inspiration but knew I couldn't do anything till now. My debt to clear this year is £7273.
I don't think I will clear it this year, but I am going to have a good try. Also be making a few big payments in the next few days then it will more likely slow down.
    Good luck everyone:p

It was a very good feeling seeing the 'You have been accepted'!
SpagBol - I will be sure to pay off the other cc and then reduce/cancel it as well. I want to be debt free, so I can't see myself wanting to incure more debts.
