Um, yes! All the time, it's the only thing we argue about really!
Loubie-Lou are you on a smart phone? I keep reporting people's posts by mistake! I just have to quickly un-spam it and hope it doesn't tell the person :o

amr What a frustrating day for the OH! I know it's a complicated system, but surely they know the difference between £3 and £600?? It's £597 of heart-attack!

I'm getting very excited for pay day at the end of this month as a) I have no money left and b) I get paid my overtime money :T Nothing to declare before then I'm afraid.

We've had some big management talks at work today... Because of investment cycles, my whole industry expects to have lay-offs starting from next year, which management think will mean recruitment freezes in the next 6 months or so across my discipline. I was thinking of applying for jobs back home in 6 months. That might be difficult if no one is hiring :(

I hope it's ok mini, sounds scary :(
I just wanted to say thanks to all the regulars on this thread. I am a bit of a lurker but wanted to tell you that you have inspired me to tackle my debts. I have got my money situation under control for the first time ever I think. I know what goes out when and have been tidying up and paying off my debts. I am down to 2 credit cards and have just made a payment to bring the one I am trying to get rid of first and the balance has gone under £1000 woo hoo:T
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and feel very in control of it all.
    Thanks to all of you.
Ps working out the percentages of what I have paid off is a really great motivator for me.

Well done marmitegirl! Let me know your total paid off so far and I'll update your figures :T:T

  • Hi All

    Two bits of good news:

    1. The last payments for April have been made and I'm officially bled dry until the end of the month, but the new total is a spiffalicious:

    no 74 £3287 / 7860 41.82%

    2. I've received confirmation from co. formally known as egg that I am due a PPI refund of £1559!!!!!! Fantastic stuff as I have always refused this option and therefore didn't know I had paid anything - bit scary  - anyway I hope to receive this well before xmas which means I have a good chance of joining the 'paid off roll of honour thingy' waaaaaaaaay before the end of the year. :)

Hi! I've only just found this thread! I've got credit card debt that as of February this year i planned to pay off by the end of 2013 ...is it ok if i join here late? I've just finished redoing my budget and organising my existing finances so i'm technically starting from scratch as of today with new more realistic figures (my budget before was a bit of a guess and hope for the best which really didn't work well hence the debt!) Anyway, i want to pay off £5,608.28 by the end of this year. £1,400 of that is actually 'emergency money' to top up of the joint account by the middle of June ready for OH's pay changing from weekly to monthly. But i'll still class it as a debt for this challenge because without it we will end up in more debt and charges.

It'll be fine spag, we expect redundancies at the end of the investment periods. It's just my first transition between these cycles, so that's why it's nerve-racking, it just makes it hard to leave. I really like my team, and enjoy the work, so it wouldn't be the worst thing if I couldn't leave, I'd just like to be closer to home sometimes. I'm not the only one in the company who feels this way!

Just visited one of our the newest housing estates in my town, and it was such a nightmare to drive through! Half the houses don't have parking and the other half only have a driveway big enough for one car, so a lot of cars were parked on the streets (which were really narrow as well). The houses look nice enough, but if the parking is so poorly designed, then what else is?

    I need to have a moan :(

Without writing a massive essay the long and short of it is. I went round that girls house, you know the one I have spoken about before... Alcohol followed. She apparently doesn't even like the sound of my voice, denoted by the fact she motioned that she wanted to strangle me at one point to get me to shut up. I wasn't even talking to her at that point, I was talking to some other people and having a nice time. Then later her house almost caught fire because someone put cardboard next to her chimnea, so I shouted "fire!" like you do, and some how it was my fault, I hadn't touched it.
So OH and I go home shortly after this, I feel like utter carp and am in tears as soon as we get out the taxi. Then the OH decides it's a good time to kick me when I'm down and point out ALL the other things I did wrong whilst we were out. Talk about morale support or not!
So now I'm back to feeling completely deflated, I don't want to leave the house because I can't do anything wrong if I don't see anyone and I don't have it in me to tidy up the flat, because honestly what is the point?!

    Sorry guys.

Wow kerri who needs friends like that!?! What a b*hole! You're OH needs a slap on the wrists too - especially if you did nothing to deserve her mean-ness. He should have been having a to at her, not you! Have some :grouphug:
  • Triple choc chip great post like you I've ignored PPI and I don't think i've paid it but now I'm wondering. But where do you start I looked at the thread on here and it seemed such an uphill task especially when you're trying to work all Gods hours to clear debts. What did you do? Still waiting for FB mods to let me sell stuff 4 days now. x
