How exciting fritterprincess! Looking forward to Friday!

I'm also on the laptop hunt just now. I have found a decent one, but it's almost £100 more than I wanted it to be, but ticks all the boxes. I have the money, but will pay for it on the credit card for the buyer protection. I have to pay £50 to my credit card before I can buy it though, as I don't have a big enough limit!

what laptop are you looking at, whats your budget and what do you need it for? :) my budget is £350 and for that I can get a decent laptop for my needs - internet surfing/word processing!

Confession time I bought a laptop on the cc! Trying to justify it by the fact it helped me apply for a promotion at work (fingers crossed) it will help me with ebay sales AND keep me sane for the 12 weeks of not working following the ovary op. Hoping the ebay sales pick up though!!
    Well done on the control!

I use my laptop for OU work. We have a desktop upstairs but having the laptop gives me flexibility to work wherever. Trying to keep it until it really does die! lol.
  • Fritterprincess, how exciting!

Pay day here. For some reason a big expense incurred on the weekend hasn't made it to the accounts yet, so this looks better than it actually is, but I'm claiming it anyway and it'll just mean that the next payment is small (ie, salary minus that expense). Otherwise I'd be looking at debt free next fortnight: really I think it'll be a month as it stands. As of today:

    #119 $6571.23/$8000
MFW diary here. 1 Feb 2017 $229,371 - MFD Feb 2043  aiming for May 2028
    14 August 2017 - Refinanced: $220,000
    January 2019 $211,580 Current MFD 31 June 2036
  • Oh I must say that I am very happy to report that I did not go and buy a shiny new sports car yesterday! although I so very much wanted it! :p:T:p

    It was SOLD! :rotfl:

Back to the challenge in hand! :A

I think in life we will all be tempted to do or buy something that we really shouldn't... but that's half the battle to become debt free :D

  • Just got back from the opticians, hubby and the kids all had eye tests. Kids are all fine.

Hubby on the other hand, who swears blind his sight is 20:20 and doesn't need glasses. Hmm. We are now £250 down after having to shell out for vari-blinking-focals for him.  :( I know he needs them, so don't really begrudge the money, but I've been telling him for years he needs glasses and he's been denying it.

Just had the gas bill - £280  it's actually less than I was expecting. Our meter reading was wrong previously - about 150 units underestimated - so really I'm not too fussed.

Here's to cheaper gas bills now spring is coming :T

You don't log in for a couple of weeks and look how much you have to catch up on! Just read over 20 pages lol. Lots of :) and  news. So sorry to hear about your grandma SpagBol.

Kerri the cats look gorgeous and the business idea sounds exciting.

Some brilliant payments going on by loads of people :j fritterprincess you're so close!

And lots of new folks too

I had 2 funerals to attend the last couple of weeks and lots to catch up on at home and work so couldn't keep up with the forum too much....it's so easy to get sucked in isn't it and then the time just disappears! My course materials also came through for my first Open University module so I've been getting stuck in with the reading. All hence my absence for a little bit ... I need to think about dedicated forum time slotted in somewhere.

Made a couple of payments today totalling £175 so my total is now:

    #107 £275 / £2972.15

I've been trying to work out if the council tax goes out this month? I'm sure it's done over 10 months isn't it? The first 2012/2013 payment was April so that would make Januarys the last until the next cycle.
And I'm sure my car insurance is 10 months too which is due again at the end of March so I need to fish out the paperwork with the installments on? If this is indeed the case then I can pay off a bit more debt with the "saved" cash....But it's MOT day tomorrow which makes me a bit nervous so I'll wait and see what work the car might (or might not - let's stay positive) need. I've saved a couple of hundred quid in my little budgeting account so that will help and if not required it can go to debt-busting :)
Today, we are (and I'm crying inside whilst saying it) going to see the Chuckle Brothers live. My kids (and hubby) think they are the funniest thing alive and they are *so* excited. I may die. Or chew off my own fingers. :undecided
:rotfl: genuine LOL-ing going on here. I do hope your fingers are intact and that you didn't, infact, die due to this. That would be terrible.
