Not sure, what do you mean by wired in? Ours are just screwed on the ceiling...The fire brigade used to do free checks I think, perhaps give them a call.

We tried to take it off the wall but it is connected by wires. It's really cheeky - it clearly hasn't worked since we moved in then ...

Nothing paid off here - only got £63 available to spend until Friday, eek!!! Boyfriend gets paid on Wednesday however and money gets transferred over to me to pay the rent so we aren't too bad.

Another £290 into the savings this week too. Cupboards are stocked, car has petrol, so we don't need anytthing.

    Debt-free and Proud!
:beer:minicooper, well done! How does being debt-free feel?

£400 paid on CC this morning and £50 put into the emergency fund.

Today, I'm going to do some card making the cook a pot of chilli. Had my hair cut this morning - £3, very :money:. just a no-frills dry cut and, as my hairdresser is at the top of mum's road, I popped in to see them for a natter.

Ah ok I would just get rid and buy a battery operated one then, if you are in a house get a pack of 2 for less than £5 one for downstairs and one for upstairs :)
