You may remember I was one of the firstpeople that were able to see other basket but not checkout. I only fell asleep at 3 and woke up at 3.40, and lost a few things out of my basket. But in hindsight I'm glad I did asi've spent far too much today!
Also a big thank you to everyone for sharing and keeping each other awake on this thread. Hope to see you all on here next year0 -
Visited 3 stores today - All absolutely rubbish.
Bought a pack of Christmas cards - that was it.
Anything I was even vaguely interested in was still just UP TO 50% off
I asked staff if there would be any more sale stock coming in (since I read on here of crates behind the scenes etc) and staff just laughed at me. Said it was all over today - and by the look of my stores, there isn't anything to reduce to 75% let alone the 90% some people have mentioned.
V annoying as in the bigger store there was rows and rows of stock last week - must assume it was all crated up and carted off to other stores.
Oh well, I didn't actually need anything, so I will look at it as a Money saving day.
I think the lesson is for future years for those wanting to be sure of a bargain, book the day off, and get a group of friends together to work as a team. Clearly single shoppers or those hampered by pushchairs and young children tend to be lambs to the slaughter.
Reading some of the reports on here, I would have thought Boots should re-think their policy or having ONE day when all stores reduce everything at the same time.
Surely it would make more sense for each store manager to make their own decision and so stagger the 75% day.
It is a wonder someone was not seriously hurt.
Wonder if Boots would be liable if someone was injured in these scrums ?0 -

When I was in a larger store today there was a guy bringing out more stock as shelves were being emptied, maybe they just ad too much surplus. Every thing apart from perfume gift sets was 75% off in my locals. It may have been worth getting them to scan the stuff. And if it was reduced online it would have been in store.0

I got to my local store at 8.25am this morning (blimmin traffic! I should have been there for when it opened at 8am!), but I did well and got lots of lovely gifts for my family and friends. I got the following:
I got a nice No7 set which consisted of a big black handbag with lots of lovely no 7 products in, 2 boxed no 7 gift sets, a minnie couture hat box set, a dove pampering set, a cute or what? birdcage shaped set, 2 minnie couture smoky eyes sets, 2 mini sanctuary sets, 1 sanctuary weekender bag set, a no 7 eye make up set, a sanctuary winter facial set, 2 ruby and millie "scarlet and crimson" make up sets (ruby and millie's make up range for younger girls), a strictly fabulous make up set, 2 umberto giannini hair product sets, Trevor Sorbie male grooming set and an fcuk male grooming set. Phew!
I am returning a vanity case set I got, the vanity case is gorgeous, but the products in it frankly smell not very nice at all! Fig and pink pepper, it gives me a headache, so can't give that as a gift to someone can I!Co-op loan: £2672.38. £2886.64 / £5559.02
HF's B'card: £2468.00 0% until November '17 _pale_ £255 / £2524.00
HF's FD Loan: £5467.78. £918.72 / £6386.52
Total: £5376.62 / £15814.78 33.99%

Just been checking out the returns policy and it seems pretty straight forward. We will have to hope it is as simple in practise as it is on paper.
Just to say that although it is a diary you can remove it. It sort of slots into place so you could easily get a notebook to replace it with looks nice.0 -
