Hi Chattmum, did you manage to get into the City?? haven't spoken to my friend today to find out latest situation with roads. Took oldest to school for 8.50 as website etc said they were open, got half way up road to be told they were closed!!! got to Lowestoft 9.20 (could've been there for opening) only managed to get an ELC Rosies world hair salon and two packs of the sandcastle bath fizzers) all rest of shelves were almost bear. Had hoped for some of the duo FCUK sets for nephews. Went onto Great Yarmouth, def more selection there - lady told me in queue they didn't open till just before 10 due to electrical problem. Queues absolutely crazy. Got a few bits for children, didn't want any smellies. Finally stopped off at Gapton - almost empty - reckon when Yarmouth store didn't open at 9 people went there!! All in all not bad, I've had better success at previous 75% sales but still pleased with what I did get0 -
If you're the kind of person who is more concerned about the amount of money that gets spent of a gift then you need to stop being so shallow and offended on what you're given and more thankful that someone has enough good will to give you anything.
I think that is quite harsh. I think lovenectar80 is making a good point actually, in most families/friendships where gifts are exchanged there is usually an understanding of an amount that is spent on presents, allowing for discrepencies between incomes/circumstances etc. If the budget is around £20 I think it is off to give a gift from last year's range which you paid £5 for and only that, but if you spend £20 and give £80 worth then that is different. It also depends what it is, some people seem to buy loads of sale stuff and make it fit the recipient, rather than because they think it is the perfect present for them.0 -
I know it's late in the day but can anyone update on stock levels in Trafford Centre or Salford Regent Road? Especially looking for No7 set and men's FCUK/Ted Baker/Lynx sets. TIA0

I think one thing you need to be careful about with bath/body gift sets, if you are storing them for a while is that in my opinion they DO go off after a while, even if they are unopened. I bought my DD a Scarlet and Crimson set in the last 75% sale. I gave it to her at Christmas and thought I would give the body lotion a try...it smelt terrible, like it had gone off! I have also received another set which I know for a fact was at least 2 yrs old but unopened which I had to throw away after one use.
I think this is why stores sell last years sun lotions off cheap.
I bought some bath/body gift sets today but they are for Mother's Day so should be OK. I don't think make up or perfume seems to go off as quick if unopened.0 -

the pack says lasts for 24 months AFTER opening the bottle. Think will be OK!0 -
It's like suggesting that someone would be offended if i gifted a thousand pound diamond watch but the recipient dislikes the gift because the gift giver bought it at an amazing 75% of rrp. People like that aren't worth worrying about.
Yes because a diamond watch is a great example to give when we're actually talking about the tricky social problem of giving a measly Twinings tea set that was reduced to £2........0 -
Hello....did anyone go to Queensgate in Peterborough or Hampton? The one in Queensgate had loads on Saturday especially the big soap and glory set...just wondered if there is likely to be anything left at the weekend (doubtful i know!)0

Thank you, some common sense finally. Thats exactly what I mean - the thought is the most important ofcourse, and some people can afford more and don't expect anything back - BUT generally it isn't always going to go down well to just give someone a gift that cost you £5 that was worth £20, and the bit about the some people making the person fit the present is so true.0 -

It's a big tease...... this is what you could have bought!
Please Boots remove the sold out items from the list, its not as if you will be able to restock
am sure there used to be a drop down option to search for items in stock.. its a pain to use at the best of times, especially after adding something to basket then going back.. often takes you back to the top of the list and only 12 items showing!0 -
