I have bought some stuff and when I got home I saw on here that some box sets will have vouchers in them expired date being march. Therefor people will know when I bought things. My question is does anyone know which products come with vouchers?0

I had my birthday just after Boxing day and ALL my gifts were from Boots half price sale! We had a laugh about it and it was fine because they were literally still being sold in the shops and at half price they still paid out quite a bit. But i'm not sure how someone would feel if they were given something 1 year old. I'm asking as I am planning to do the same thing too with some of my gifts but i'm wary of embarassing myself & them if they realised it was that old & paid very little for them.
I have a one friend who buys rubbish gifts - because she doesn't put any care into gift-giving.0 -
I couldn't resist popping back to the big Belfast store at lunchtime - OMG, it had been cleared out completely!!!! I'm so glad that I went this morning. There is hardly a thing left.
Although a SA came out with a random cage of sale goods that had been left in the stock room (last one, according to her) and it was full of tagines for £5 each!! So I bought one. It's gorgeous, and will make a lovely gift (we already have a tagine or it'd be for us!).There was a scrum around her after that, so I'd say that they're all gone now. Even people who didn't know what they were bought one! :rotfl:
I also bought a pack of 30 cards, a 10m roll of Christmas wrap and a Kiss Me Quick shower/bathing set (the one that looks like a beach hut).
Gift cupboard now full to bursting again!!!!
While we (all females) were browsing the few shelves left, an elderly man came pushing through us and muttering at us to move out of his way. A woman reprimanded him and asked him not to be so rude, to which he shouted at her that *she* was the one being rude!! I was appalled.
I did this too - went in this morning at 8 then back after lunch - maybe I (literally) bumped into you! :rotfl: But yes I agree there were a few grumpy men and women. One literally pushed me out of the way as the guy was unloading the box of Royal Jelly stuff!Feb wins: Angry Birds mug, £250 Perfume Shop bundle0 -

True, but it is a little more complicated. If someone for example had given you a £20 gift (and did this regularly) and then they realised you only spent £5 on a gift for them (but the gift was originally worth £20) then although they'll appreciate the thought, and the gift is still worth the same they spent on you, it's kinda insulting to them if they realised you went out of your way to spend so little, stored it for a year and tried to pass it off as similar value to what you give to them regularly.
In a way, the thought that's actually gone behind this kind of present giving is "you're not worth me spending as much as you spend for me".0 -
Thanks for that flandot, hubby working in city centre and I was needling him to go in and have a neb as I'm sure it had a better range that abbeycentre. Now I shan't say a thing to him and I won't let on its because I know there isn't any stock left and he will be happy I am not pestering him!Total debt £20,000 Northern Rock loan:eek:

If you want slippers you're sorted, otherwise there was nothing there but empty shelves when I dropped in at lunch time.0 -
I went to Boots at Cortonwood near Barnsley this morning. There was a very orderly queue outside at ten to nine and when the shop opened, everyone went in without any fuss or hurry and were polite and considerate to each other when doing their shopping. Some people bought a lot, others only bought a few things. Everyone was very friendly and chatting to each other and there were none of the issues that other people have mentioned. If I am not at work I shall be going again next year. Very happy with my purchases which will do for birthday presents and christmas presents for next year.0

Ok, well we had a good haul..visited 3 Northampton stores today. Big retail park at 8, small retail park at 9 then town centre.
At Sixfields it was hardcore people with trolleys but gallery polite and charming. I managed to get...
FCUK men's Sport body spray/shower gel set - gift
Lamain't Perfume set - gift
Trevor Sorbie hair kit, dry shampoo, mousse and sanctioning clips - for me
MOTD mug - gift
MOTD ball and arm band - gift
HoH tweezer/mascara/eyeliner set - for me
3 Starbucks mugs - 2 for us 1 for my friend
Leather gloves - for me...at £3.75 I couldn't say no.
Knitted slipper socks - for me...2 quid.
At St James (very small store)
Two more FCUK sets but Urban this time -again gifts
Number 17 two tier nude eyeshadows - for me
2 Number 17 Smokey eye kits - gifts
2 Number 17 lip gloss and eyeshadow sets (£1.50 each!)- gift
Ted Baker men's smellies kit with a soap shaped ruler - gift
5 x Minnie Mouse wash scrunchies - gifts
Town Centre - blummin crazy there...
Slipper boots - for me
HoH large wash bag - gift
Grey large wash/storage bag - for me
Car wheel clock - gift
So...I got a lot. But I've held off any off the 50% stuff and I spend about 60 quid in all in. I now have a completed Christmas present box and the eyeshadow and slippers I needed. Good times.
Sixfields was busy with people with mounds of stuff....nothing silly though and plenty to go around. St James had very few people and a lot less stuff...town was like a bombsite.0
