Evening everyone, sorry I haven't posted for a while, I've been reading but as my Gran died last Sunday, I haven't felt very Christmassy lately.
Went to London yday with OH and DD to watch Matilda - it was fab and DD loved it (even DH said it was good!!). But OMG how busy was London!!:eek::eek: I had great plans of doing Christmassy things but when after the show we walked to Leicester Square, I just really wanted to go home. People everywhere....did feel disappointed and very tired and dirty.
I would like to pick your brains: I'm doing an English hamper for some friends who live abroad but got stuck with what to put in the hamper. So far I've got an English flag hessian bag, shortbread (I know it's Scottish but I'm slightly bending the rules), English breakfast tea and small jars of different jams. What else can I put in that is on budget but fits in with the theme? Thanks.
Big hugs to everyone who's not feeling well or got not so nice things going on. Haven't even got our tree/decorations up yet. Wanted to do it last Sunday but that didn't work out. Hoping that after the funeral I'll a bit more Christmassy again.0 -
Had a really rubbish day today. Booked tickets last night to take the kiddies to see Frozen this afternoon. Halfway to the cinema the car died in huge clouds of smoke! DH Called breakdown company told them exactly where we were. The guy called half hour later and shouted at me cos he's left the bypass a stop early and he was in the wrong village! Why that was my fault I don't know. Anyway he finally found us and basically said it's dead and won't be an easy or cheap fix. He towed it to DH's work and DH will have to book it in somewhere after work tomorrow. My friend came and brought us home we'd well and truly missed the film by that point.
No idea how I'm getting to work tomorrow either. Wasn't long ago the brakes failed on it we just really don't have the spare funds to buy a new one and dreading the bill for fixing it again!
To top it all off DH popped to the local shop to buy milk and when he got it home he dropped it! The bottle burst open and covered my living room in milk. I just looked at him and started laughing! Couldn't have ended an already crappy day any better!Savings Account - £0.00
