nic littlewoods isn't too bad price wise if you keep an eye open for the offers they were doing 20% off toys which makes them more on par with elsewhere. I mostly use it for bigger buys as I can spread the cost interest free but occasionally get some good bargins in the offers/sales. goodluck on the job hunt
omo lol at ds must be a man thing could you image the panic if we left things to the last minute my lists have lists and I still worry I forgot something :o

picked up the snowglobe tin from M&S would actually make a lovely gift tin as all the labels are removable.
pre ordered a game for the ps4 at £20 bargin I thought as most are around £50
finally managed to find some dvd gift boxes 3 for 99p so thats more thing off my list

think this cold weather is affecting everyone's guag its been so cold the last few days don't feel like doing much and its only nov :(

on another note I was rather shocked today to find a whole display of ann summers toys on sale in superdrug now I'm no prude and have no problem with them but did not find it appropriate that they were on display esp at toddler level
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk
  • Hi all, I apologise in advance but I really need to vent - I have had a day from hell. Started with a last minute cancellation, then mum ringing to relay a message from my dad that he wont be coming to see the children before xmas unless his new mrs is invited! I was so annoyed, how dare he ring my poor mum and get her to pass on the message .. a short but rather heated phone call on my behalf and I think the selfish g*t now realises that 1)his new lady friend is not and never will be welcome 2)he now has no reason to contact my mum and 3)I actually couldnt give a t@ss what he thinks!
And then, to top it all off, I have this evening reversed into a parked car when collecting dd from her friends. It was a rather upper class cul-de-sac, no lighting and the very posh landrover was over hanging his drive and I stupidly miss judged the distance and ... BANG!
I was so shaken up, Ive never had any kind of bump before and didnt know what to do. I knocked on the door and gave them my details, but they didnt even come out and see the damage. I then had to ring dh (who is lodging away all week) I was worried of his reaction, money is just so tight at the moment we cant afford a claim etc, but as always, my amazing better half was nothing but supportive and understanding. My dd's friend is going to take a walk and try and get a sneaky photo of the damage (just incase) and also let me know reg etc, as I was too shook up to think of getting their details.

I have put dd's to bed with books for an early night, had a little cry, and poured myself a rather large glass of rose' !

I know I have said it before, but I really cannot wait for this year to be over, '13 has definatly been unlucky for us :(
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

Huge hugs Pinknfluffy. These things happen, and it sounds like they won't take it any further and just get it sorted. You did the right thing.

I can understand why you would be so upset about your Dad, hopefully he will realise and make it up to you.

Hope your Christmas is nice and 2014 is the year for you. Xx

If its that good, I might not come back!:D I'll live in Earls Court until the show finishes.
I'll spread the Christmas cheer. And when it shuts, I'll be in the hot tub wearing reindeer antlers and eating mince pies...:rotfl:

Oh pinknfluffy I know exactly how you feel passed my test in Jan but didnt drive until I got myself a little car in July and then managed to reverse it into a bollard in the service tunnel in work got the 1/4 panel and did about £1500 damage and off the road for 3 weeks only had the car 10 days then a few weeks ago I knocked off someones wing mirror as it was a really tight gap and they were parked up. I was honest and stopped and went and found them cost me £250 but I am a great believer in karma and later in the week got an unexpected bonus in work - I like to think it was a reward for my honesty.
