  • Good morning :rudolf:

Started putting out my Christmas china, cookie jars & candle holders in the kitchen yesterday, giving everywhere a deep clean & sort out as I pottered about. Also got on top of the washing & drying meaning I can concentrate on the last of the wrapping for DDs, pack away 'autumn/halloween' & begin unwrapping Christmas :j .... looks like I'll have all the jobs on my list ticked that I wanted to get done before going back to work tomorrow.

Just after some advice or ideas really... One of my neighbours lost her husband about 3/4 days after Christmas last year. We're quite a close set of neighbours, as neighbours go & I was wondering whether to send her a Christmas card or a 'thinking of you card'? & what to write in it?
  • On countdown for the festivities to start.

Saturday sees us go to our first christmas market of the year at Chatsworth house, its moved in front of Lincoln as my favourite christmas market, hope its going to be as good seeing as its on for a whole week this year rather than the three days.
  • ARGH have just lost my reply/post GRRR!

OMO- Bless! Lucky Robbie (and you) I love the John Lewis ad and am very tempted to get a bear and hare to go in xmas eve hamper!

Nana- Thankyou for your thoughts hun, I am off meds at the moment as the doc thinks they were making me even more depressed lol! He offered to switch them, but dh and I decided to go it alone till after xmas. Since having the diagnosis, it has made it easier for us both to deal with my depression/outburst bouts, and I really want to try and get my head round it and regulate it as best I can, I dont fancy spending the rest of my years on meds, but as a last resort...
Have had a rough weekend, but kept myself busy, managed not to snap/cry etc and dh said he knew I was down, but only cos he knows me so well, bless him!

Well today is my first "alone" day for a few weeks, and I am going to make the most of it. Xmas films, xmas wrapping, and first batch of mince pies ... just as soon as I switch the laptop off and get my ar*e into gear!

Back soon, have a great day everyone xx
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

I think I would just keep it simple, and send her a (not too festive) Christmas card with 'thinking of you at this difficult time' written in it.

    Hi all!

Two of my nephews want a gift card for Christmas. Any novel ideas of how to wrap one up to make it a bit more interesting than just in an envelope?

Nanamia - I'm going to aim for £20 on the art hamper for my 2 nieces as we're spending £10ish each on the the nephews. I may well add some of my crafting stash that I'm never going to use to it too.

NANAMIA WOW WOW WOW well done on getting all your xmas shopping finished, i only have one left to buy but cant get it until i go to gardening centre to get my xmas tree, i am doing an American Soda and Snack hamper for DD2s BF so its only a case of buying it and arranging it nicely. I still havent made phone call i am trying to work out a time when one of the kids can drop me off and i walk back, i dont think i can manage both ways with this flipping trapped nerve  so keep nagging me, sorry you have been so upset hearing the John Lewis song, bringing back such horrible memories, sending you lots of hugs x
CHRISSYG oh chrissy poor DD im so sorry it hasnt worked out, you had such high hopes with this college, i hope she is ok and not too upset, that stupid teacher, i cannot believe she would tell off someone knowing what they have trouble with, i dont blame you for having a blazing row, if i was in your shoes i would have done the same
GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY oh god mice and rats are my biggest fear, we had a mouse in our kitchen at the beginning of the year, my DD1 smeared toothpaste all round our cupboards where it was getting in :rotfl:i was so terrified that i would see it, luckily it did go, so good luck i hope you get rid of it quickly
AMEYTURTLE have a lovely time with your friend and a good old catch up
