I can fully sympathise with you. It's ok for them to have ASD as long as it's not in the classroom.

Ds never got on at any college. We tried 3. We then gave up. He signed on with ESA went on a course and got his City and Guilds.
Part of his problem was people talking to him like he was a child because he had a disability. Once he went on a proper adult course and was spoken to like an adult he did really well.

    There is still hope. xx

Dd is on ESA she was put in the support group, as well as asd she has uncontrolled epilepsy and Dyspraxia so she has a complex mix of issues.

school and college focus on her epilepsy which can be dramatic but the asd/dyspraxia affect her so much more day to day.

    Hi all!

Two of my nephews want a gift card for Christmas. Any novel ideas of how to wrap one up to make it a bit more interesting than just in an envelope?

Nanamia - I'm going to aim for £20 on the art hamper for my 2 nieces as we're spending £10ish each on the the nephews. I may well add some of my crafting stash that I'm never going to use to it too.

Feel free to copy this, they are fairly easy to make, just time intensive :)

Your poor DD :( She has really been through it! I would write a strongly worded letter of complaint to your local ofsted and highlight just how severely you and your daughter have been failed. xxx

Well I've found out that our shop rent is about £300 more a month than a busy high street shop in our local area :( We are still running at a huge loss, so I now need to think about whether we sell up and switch to just online (may not be a success due to higher than competition prices) or re-locate - such a quandary!

Mrs M I bought The Holiday in February after watching the ending in Oz with DGD1, haven't got round to it yet! I will put it on my to-do list ha. I love the angel but £80 ouch! Loved reading your Christmas DVD list, think I recognised a couple, I've bought a few this year but I think they are scatter about, need to get them in the same place and see what's what. Nov 16th is not your birthday is it by any chance? :) I must look up that video on YouTube (Jack
Quidsy wow you did do well with the glitch :) go girl X
Choccymoose well done for treating yourself, think its a habit we all should adopt :) It might even be my New Years resolution haha. We spend so much time, energy and emotion treating everybody else. We put everybody else first, just once in a while we need to remember. I'm delighted your DS is doing so well. It really is wonderful news. Nobody hated school more than me as a child. This may sound cheeky but would the "dragon dictator" help Baby Boo is it voice recognition ? X
Gettingtherequickly speak for yourself madam :) haha I did giggle reading your post about the "grumpy old women" it is possibly me xxx
Pigpen hope you are feeling better, not much time for being poorly at yours! Did DH get his shopping done? X
his Missus I love putting that sort of pressie together. Trouble is it's quite easy to get carried away isn't it and end up spending a blooming fortune! X
Princess that was not the relaxing bath DH had in mind! Bless you both, I hope you've both managed some down time this weekend. Sending lots of love xxx
Bargain Bunny well done with the chocolate coins, must be very difficult trying to source "nut free" chocolatey treats X
Msgigglewick love your elf :) I'm dreading the scales in the morning after my over eat last Monday argh. Still what will be will be! X
Peppapig bless your DD bet she's had enough now. Even the excitement of the bingo didn't get her " going". Such an exciting time for you all xxx
Fluffysox you clever thing. What an adorable little prince. How alert he looked at one day old. Really hoping you are being kind to yourself and taking advantage of all the brilliant help being offered. Love and hugs xxx
Marco dog another one of the lovelies that is way too hard on herself. Wise words indeed from Mrs M please don't push yourself too hard (or escape when DH isn't looking) A 4lb loss is a brill achievement I like to think of it as two bags of sugar, you wouldn't want to be lugging that up and down the stairs, around the house, park etc for very long! xxx
Pixtotts I could almost smell that Mrs Beeton book from the photo. Thank you. Oh then the John Lewis advert!!! Well what can I say. As some on here know my DH has over the past few years been very poorly ( thankfully still with us:) but a couple of times it's been touch and go and a one point I planned his funeral (morbid yep, but wanted to get it right and he'd been given 3 weeks to live- if I was lucky) so plan I did. And had chosen a certain Keene song :) Yep only for 8 years later John Lewis to turn it into a beautiful Christmas advert campaign. Well I've had tears this weeken pd it's fair to say but I'm over it now and LOVE the ad and now the app (thanks Linky oh what a softy I am xxx
Feisty good news. I've everything crossed for you and DH for Wednesday xxx
Mrsinvisible go you, on a blinking roll :) swapping supplier is no mean feet! Then sorting out how to save the difference. How efficient you are, put me to shame. You are so organised for Christmas too :) Then I read on. Blooming hek, so lucky that you'd moved the present stash. As Linky said somebody was looking after you. Still I don't envy the clean up :( I hope things are drying out and you've not had too much upheaval. xxx
Risky b thank you for the lovely comments about my living room :) I've been reading your blog and do fancy trying the lemon chicken very soon. Will report back. Then yum the thought of spiced orange shortbread oooommm delicious X
Nikki thank you for your Christmas DVD list, need to get mine together and sort out. Only started buying them this year! X
Morgy hi, how are you doing? I just adore the idea of we are going on a bar hunt. DD is supposed to be finished but I'm hoping to pick this up to add to her stocking. Thank you. She is now 26 but was at uni in Liverpool and this weekend was at a reunion with the girls she shared with. And she's feeling very old ha! She is- I had her daughter whilst she was away :) xxx
Lalagomay I do like the idea of different themes :) X
Pinknfluffy hugs my lovely, how are your meds doing? I've been thinking about you :) xxx
Saver those gifts do sound cute :) I've made a note to look when in wilkinsons. I love this thread, it's like having loads of spies in the stores routing out the best bits xxx
Cymrumam well done on sorting DH's present. They can be so tricky can't they. X
Craftymummy ooooh thank you for the link. Love those button pictures, like my sister from another mister aka Freespirit I too bookmarked as a to-do project :) I even liked the stag one haha
Dollypop ooh doesn't that bedding look inviting :)
Chrissy thank you for the link. There are some lovely things there. Fingers crossed that that wish list is delivered to you very very soon. How is DD doing? xxx
b_e_g I've looked at that rude paper a couple of times, my DS would appreciate it but I don't wrap to post to Oz cos of the customs. X
Linky aww how awful for you DD. bless her, she's certainly got her head screwed on (obviously I wouldn't expect anything less form a child of yours) Im so glad she starting to pick up and I blinking hope you've bought her the John Lewis thing. I've been playing with the app too. I'm over my tears now. Ha I love it :) xxx
Freespirit I'd bookmarked Craftymummys link then read down and you have too. Haha. Really makes me chuckle. I'd love to see the photo, you know meeeeee I will nag and nag and nag till I do. Speaking of which, I know you've had a tough week but there is a certain phone call neeeeeeeeeds making. It's overdue!!! It'd be easier just to do it xxx[/QUOTE]

Nanamia yes its a speech to text software programme so yes voice recognition, hes getting annoyed with it at the moment as he still has a slight inpediment so he has to repeat some words a lot lol.

  • Well Tesco bank I could kiss you, after me complaining about the poor service I recieved which allowed my credit card to be continued to be used after it being stolen I was sent another £40 gift card. So with that gift card and the one we found behind the hall cupboard and the doubling up of clubcard points I have managed to get without spending a penny the new skylanders swapforce game, plus a range of figures to add to it. Hmmm now do I save it for ds2s birthday or do I give it to them as a surprise joint present ? They have already been told its to expensive on top of what else they have suggested

Pigpen glad your feeling better:) At least your DH buys Christmas presents! Unlike mine who thinks Santa and the elves do it all. Ha. Well done you for sorting matalan out, may I ask if DS3 is diabetic? (Feel free to ignore my cheek) but when you mentioned the socks I've been wondering if they worked, I've been buying the merino wool ones from Go Outdoors for DH (diabetic feet argh) but looked at the other X
Ameyturtle woo have fun with your friend, you've some catching up to do xxx
Chrissy aaarrrrghh you poor thing and DD obviously. What a time you've had :( Makes my blood boil. It sounded so very promising. I hope you can take hope from Master Linkys story, he's going from strength to strength now isn't he. I really, really hope DD gets a break very soon xxx
Gettingtherequickly bread and jam, always worked for us.. Little blighters. X
Feisty I'm glad you are back on track with your planning :) Are you able to go with DH on Wednesday ? xxx
Mrs Christmas I would send a card too, with a little note saying that you just wanted her to know that you were thinking of her even if she wasn't feeling too festive. Maybe pop in for a coffee? xxx
Pinknfluffy oh my lovely, I knew you weren't feeling yourself :( Im sorry those meds didn't quite work out for you:( Hoping together with DH you can work around your condition now at least you know what you are dealing with. But please don't be a martyr, there are plenty more meds to try, that may make life more comfortable for you all. The thing is if you do need the meds then take them!! If they were meds for eg a heart condition they'd have to be taken and you'd not think about it. Rant over, I'm way too bossy I know xxx
his missus you will put together a great hamper with that, plus things from your stash :) I love your makes, clever clogs and the photos are a perfect size thank you X
Mrs M I bet the rememberance ceremony at school was emotional, I get upset just watching them on tv! Oh it's DD on the 16th :) have you given yours to Linky for our list? xxx
Freespirit bless you, you are lovely :) I will of course continue to nag! Pin the DDs and DS down tonight and find out when they'd be able to help and then ring in the morning. It's no good putting it off, it'll be mid November before you get an appointment now. Or I may have to whip down to sunny Berkshire ha xxx
JJ go girl. Have fun and enjoy not feeling pants :) You are on a roll with your preperation anyway! Poor doggy, but loving that you managed to take him for a little excercise well done xxx
Ruth thank you for the heads up on the cellophane, maybe tempted ha xxx

Chrissy I'm not clued up on the options available, apologies, does DD have other options ? These last few months have been such a strain on you all, she has been through so much xxx
Choccymoose I wonder if Baby Boo uses an apple product and could try it. Thank you for explaining for me :) I've googled now too. Glad you've sorted, though obviously you did deserve compensation for tesco mistake! You've done so well. I'd be tempted to buy them another treat but that's because I'm a dreadful spender and not mse at all! xxx
BBTHREE heaven only knows how I managed to miss your post yesterday! Woo hoo, go girl after a rotten start to the year to get a promotion go girl. I'm so delighted for you and hope you are now learning to delegate so your hours are shortened! I went to Bents at half term, was thinking of you xxx

  • nanamia I think I will give it them as an extra treet, they too have had a difficult year and have coped well.
There are android apps that you can use to for speech to text such as shout out, probably not as comprenhensive as dragon dictator but who knows. Also on most tablets there is a microphone icon on the keyboard so you can dictate to it, I think it depends on the processor as to how effeetive it is.

And not sure ifit can be used on all sites etc as mine appears to have disappeared now lol.

Are you still enjoying your lounge? Mine has been delayed as builders previuos job has overrun, as its mates rates I can't complainbut have a feeling thag the same as last year my house will be a building site until christmas eve.

I've heard peanut butter works well too. (shudder! Hate those horrible creatures. Won't even mention the 'M' word in this house anymore)

Just had the Lidl newsletter and it looks like the hamper sellophane is coming soon. http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/SID-19FFE64E-C1AA8F12/www_lidl_uk/hs.xsl/our-offers-2491.htm?action=showDetail&id=7489
Forgot I bought some last year. I found it today. I bought silver, gold and red. The silver is very pretty-hard to tell on the roll. It's 5m on each roll and I think last year was 99p a roll too.

Thanks for the tip Re: cellophane I am making a few hampers this year so will purchase some!

I got my brothers last jelly beans for his hamper!

More card writing and wrapping tonight!

ASDA has a half price clothes sale , got myself some pajammas for £3 long ones !

My cousin and her other half popped in for a hour which was lovely!

However it's slowed down my prep plans for this evening lol! However would choose a nice visit over making up brothers jelly bean hamper!

Also just been reminded I am having coffee in the morning with my friend before I go off for a ESA tribunal!
