Hello!
Brighton seemed to get off incredibly lightly considering the severe weather warnings we were getting yesterday afternoon. I had some whistly windows last night but aside from that we seem to have been relatively unaffected!
I started my new job today and I already love it. I've managed to come in just before payday so will be getting paid for the final 4 days of October already having been paid on Friday at the end of my notice period for my old job! Going straight into savings apart from the little bit I'm keeping aside for my boyfriend's Christmas present, whenever I come up with an idea.
My mum and I have just booked a trip to Helsinki in February! Flights were very cheap considering it'll be in her half term (she's a teacher) so we snapped them up before they shot up. Shame we couldn't go before Christmas but I like to think it'll stretch the festive feeling out for a little bit longer
Here's one I had to share with you - spotted this in Lakeland at the weekend and I know that some of you will be interested in this lovely The Perfect Christmas book! It's only £3.99 (RRP £12) and I'm reliably informed (by my mum) that it's excellent, particularly the pudding section!0 -
OMO-thanks for the h and m link got an apron and ds a couple of jumpers for about £15 in total which is great as one was 12.99 :-)
Nanamia- the living room looks great and the cake is brilliant
Kelly - congrats on the job x
2 of 12 christmas cakes baked now as well as onions pickled and spiced cider brewing, not happy with the christmas cake recipe, I destroyed the old faithful recipe I had last year by accident and now can't find anything as nice, might have a go at the one put up a few weeks ago. Have got a gorgeous whisky sherry combination to feed them with so that will be tasty :-)0 -

My husband has a Tassimo machine and he uses it several times a day, loves it!. The pods are sometimes on offer at the supermarket so he stocks up.

They're definitely worth buying they go in my travel cup on the way to work in the morning and save me a fortune in petrol station lattes. If you're a costco member they sell them in there and I'm pretty sure they work out cheaper than the supermarket at full price :rotfl:2014 20p savers club #2 I've given up trying to keep track of how much that pig eats!
2014 £2 savers club #3 - I've no idea, but the pig is beginning to get mighty heavy

mrsgiggleswick, it made me smile to think that you are only nearly4 and so computer literate, sorry to hear the storm damage though.
Pigpen, you have inspired me, I will get boxes to put the kids presents in, (if the boxes are big enough I wont need to buy presents, the nibs can play in/with the boxes). It will save me the frustration of knowing its there 'somewhere'
Nanamia, the living room is beautiful, do you charge an entry fee? and the cake is, as ever, fanbloomingtastic.
Was busy again yesterday, but now have finished painting friends living room and bedroom, we had loads of paint left so we have put a coat on the staircase too, and will finish that today, then give it all a tidy up and make it homey so that she hasn't owt to do when she gets home.
I have double booked myself for Halloween, I am supposed to haunt the wrinklies soup and sweet supper night and rattle my chains with DGS at (same friends) sons Halloween Hooley, can't do both, oops.
Got some more presents wrapped yesterday and bought the rods and some thread to make the hanging bit for the advent calendars. Should get them finished this week, or soon after my bus trip.
I do not have any yankee candles, must rectify that.0 -
