Ooh that looks great, very Britsh Bake-off! I wonder what other puddings would work in there? I'm not a fan of trifle as I tend to think that fruit in dessert is all kinds of wrong and mostly just takes up the space where more chocolate ought to be...

How about profiteroles and chocolate sauce !!!

Forgot to say I got a white cake stand in there for £6.99 in the sale. I am going to use it with my tree decorates, to give it some hight.

Need some inspiration for the hot chocolate hamper I'm doing though!!

Just a few suggestions off the top of my head:
    - A mug [B&M had some lovely ones for around £2, that came with little knitted covers - very cute].
    - Different types of hot chocolate [you could go for the little packets, with the likes of Options providing so many different choices, or one or two tins/tubs. If you have a Whittard's outlet, it might be worth checking it out - I got some lovely tubs of hot chocolate with great long dates on them for around £2.50 each from my local outlet store].
    - Marshmellows.
    - Biscuits of some description.
    - A chocolate stirrer? [I've seen those at Whittard's in the past, and more recently in the likes of John Lewis.]
    - A book to read whilst enjoying the hot chocolate [you could even go for something chocolate themed - there were a few suggestions a little while back on the thread].
    - In the same vein as the book, you could grab a snuggly blanket, or fluffy socks, or perhaps a candle [even a chocolate scented one] - all focused on the experience of relaxing with the drink. :)

Then tescos cancelled the order i made yesterday for the hudl's.. none in stock apparently so they supposedly refunding my money and said they haven't touched the clubcard points so i could reorder when in stock.. guess what... yep this morning all clubcard points gone and no sign of money yet... waiting on them to get back to me about it.

Its my dd1's 17th bday tomorrow and my dd4's 4th bday on monday so went up town with two of my other daughters to get cards.. had quite a nice few hours walking around the new shops (got an old fashioned elf oops lol) dd3 got two teddys to cheer her up.

Home now to carve pumpkins and find some xmas cheer...

Really sorry to hear about your rabbit. :(

I was just looking at the first pages of the thread and on Christmas Eve last year you posted that we had to remind you to get a special cup for Santa's drink. Just checking that you got one. :D

A massive bowl of profiteroles sounds perfect :j

You'll have to post some more photos when your decorations are up!

I love both of these ideas too, but the problem with the quality street one is that everyone would nick all the best ones! Do you think I could get away with just filling it with the nut ones me and DH don't like, and claiming it's colour-coordinated with our other Christmas decs? :D

At last I can post on here that I have done something towards my Christmas prep! I have bought all our PJs for the Christmas eve hamper in sainsbugs with 25% off and also got two coca cola T shirts one for my brother's hamper and one for ds2.

I have decided to do a coca cola hamper for ds2 and Dr Who for ds1. I was trying to avoid Dr Who as ds1's life revolves around this and I wanted to do something different...but I couldn't think of anyrhing else. I might put a bit of red dwarf in it if I can think of anything.

msgigglewick sorry to hear about your bunny

mrs moneypenny your stocking is fantastic

    nanamia your lounge looks fab

well I feel a bit more positive and Christmassy so I'm back:rotfl:

You will love Wicked. You'll never see the Wizard of Oz in the same light again.

M&S have 20% off Homeware at the moment. Have ordered the stag tea-light holder for £7.60 down from £9.50. :D

Also ordered the stag sack for Robbie's presents out of Next. I really need to get my bedroom tidy.

I can't remember who was after a large trifle bowl LAST YEAR, but Homebase have some in half price £9.99

It was me :D my darling friend bought me one last year, and I had planned to decorate it with glass etch, but knowing that they aren't cheap I was too worried lol.

So sorry about the bunny :(

We have oh grandads funeral tomorrow :(

I feel like I am so behind with Christmas prep - I was supposed to have made my pickled onions this month, it hasn't happend and doesn't like it will :(

All this talk of Yankee Candles has made me decide to go to the local garden cane to browse them today! Picked up another present yesterday so doing ok. Just struggling as to what to get my brother who is coming to stay for the big day: last year got him a Starbucks voucher as he loves his coffee and can't afford to keep paying out for a treat there. Any suggestions?

How about one of the Tassimo machines from the grabbits board? Apparently the coffee is fab so great for coffee lovers and the offer on grabbits is heavily discounted! :)
