  • Trendy, no she didn't leave then, she stayed to be a thorn in their flesh till she got a better job. Altho the HR dept backed off, they put her on a level 1 (ie no action pathway) for 6 months. and guess what? she passed her next assessment no problem. HR departments are supposed to follow rules, but can always find an 'exceptional circumstance' when necessary. Make sure you have a copy of their procedures, and note any deviation, such as letters not being sent in the timescale they set, reviews not happening, wrong info on PF minutes not taken or notes not written up. Always have a rep with you, and make sure they know you will bite first then bark.
Yesterday was very productive, I made 3 advent calendars, I wish I could post pictures as I am quite proud of them.
Went shopping with fave cous too, but only bought coffee and toasted t cakes.
Christmas preparations are on hold this week, as one of my friends is going on holiday and her mum and l are going to paint her living room and bedroom as a surprise for her. (she has had a rough couple of years, so she deserves something nice).
Waiting for the nibs to Skype then I have loadsa washing to do.
Might watch a Christmas film tho, I'd like that.xx Play nice, now. xx

Sorry was rudely interrupted mid flow so to speak. Back from the football, cold and a little disappointed that we drew after being 2-0 up. But hey ho!

Feisty and Mr Feisty you know I'm rubbish with words, but my thoughts are truly with you. Hoping things went well at the shop today and that DHs health will be on the mend very soon. Sending love and hugs xxx
Trendy I remembered in the night that Mrsinvisible was our in house expert, she is so very wise. I hope you are being kind to yourself today and that all goes well on Tuesday xxx
Mrsinvisible I always overspend even in the £shop! Have to have somebody with me with a back up bank account :) DD, DS, BFF, DN any body really will do. Haha. I'm back over drawn but it happens, I'll get out of it again at some point. Hey ho. Chuckled thinking about DD sorting DS out and threatening worse ha, maybe you could send her to me :) xxx
Mrsgigglewick glad you are all recovered :) and here's hoping you are back to your Christmas knitting very soon xxx
Laurajo aha the wrapping debate! It depends doesn't it if you have somewhere you can store the wrapped goodies safely where the paper, ribbon and bows won't be spoilt or prying hands won't get to them. I'm hoping to hit a happy medium this year maybe leave some things til first week in December. The lovelies on here are generally torn, we have some which love to wrap and those who really don't like it at all ( Linky ) Im in the love to wrap gang but usually forget that it takes me much longer than I think, however this year Linky has us in hand and we've weekly tasks to do and targets to follow, so fingers crossed I will be ok :) You are so in the right place x
Snugglebunny beautiful words and sentiments to our darling Feisty xxx
Always after a bargain it is good to have you back. I'm glad you'll eventually be financial secure, with your DHs job it's the very least you deserve. I have massive respect for the part you play too :) Are you buying your turkey crown early from M&S and freezing it? X
Money Maker thank you so much, wow shopping is so much easier with all these wonderful bargain hunters. Just need to keep up with my lists :) xxx
Choccymoose aww you poor thing. I hope 2014 will be much happier for you all. X
Marco dog SW sort of gets in your head, it's quite weird (I've never been to a class but follow the healthy eating plan and have lost 40lbs since the end of Feb) I've got a way to go to catch Msgigglewick obviously but I'm finding it a doddle to be honest. Even when you have a treat you make better choices ha listen to me! Shocking myself!!! X

Well done. Especially as you have never been to a class. I love my class and all the tips. I do enjoy the SW forum on here as well. I am eating loads so much so that I can not finish it all. I think I am at last getting the hang of it and have sins left although we had a Chinese last night but I think I had enough sins for it. I will be amazed if I lose anything this week as I have ate so much of allowed food. It is an amazing way to get rid of unwanted pounds. I lose really slow as well which is a bit annoying.
I love the wolf cushions but think I have enough now as anything I buy will have to be stored when we move and go into a rented house until our new one will be built. I had one of those stares from my Husband when I said I had bought the stag ones. Looking forward to picking them up tomorrow.
I must get some more Christmas cards. I bought some from Next with deer on them. I think I will be dreaming of them next!!!

I would never encourage you to spend more money on stags, but I'm picking this up when in London. :D

  • Thanks nanamia!

I think I'm going to wrap up DHs as and when I get them, so he can't peek!

I do like to spend time with bows and ribbons and making them look pretty, however after the first few, I get fed up and the rest look like they were wrapped by a four year old! I shall try and do three at a time, and save a few of the easier looking ones for a Christmassy night in!

Just been out to get the christmas magazine - to be honest, I'm a little disappointed, it just seems like one big sales-patter and whilst I loved ooh-ing at the pretty decorations, I was hoping for some more practical tips and 'real christmas' articles. Oh well, the Good Housekeeping christmas edition should be out soon, I usually enjoy that!

I'm loving the woodland friends theme that seems to be very much 'in' this year, which is fab as it's the first year dh has has consented to completely replacing our decs, when normally we only buy a few new bits. It's our first Xmas married, and I always said I wanted to buy all new this year and keep them forever (well, as long as possible) so in years to come we can look back etc...

Hope you are all well today....I'm a bit sniffly but I'll live....
  • Well it's taken me a week but I have finally caught up with you all! Sending massive hugs to those that need them, especially Fiesty, when my nan died I was only a teenager but it was all very sudden and it really shocked the family but we still talk about her most day and she is forever in our thoughts and I know you and dh will be the same about his grandfather. I hope the re-launch was a success.

OMO was at a local garden centre yesterday and they had some lovely stags, made me think of you and this thread!

Nanamia - I hope you enjoy your bowling and the wallpaper gets hung later. Fingers crossed you will be finished soon.

As I read so many pages I can't quite remember everything that has been happening but have loved keeping up to date with all the news and shopping :)

For me it's been a bad 2 weeks, found out last Tuesday that the nursery I work in is closing down on 1st November. I'm devastated. I love my job and I love the children I look after. The next 2 weeks are going to be incredibly emotional, can't bear to say goodbye to them. I'm really worried about getting another job as I was previously unemployed for 18months before I started this job 3yrs ago but I'm trying to remain positive, 13 cvs have been posted and 4 application forms sent off so hopefully something will come for one of them.

Anyway enough chatting from me, I'm off to do some shopping :D x

We used to buy the Gingerbread House kits where it was all precut and would just need assembling but last year we found a template online and my DS2 (15) made the gingerbread and cut out the shapes. He and his little sister then had fun assembling and decorating as far as their imaginations would allow. Very MSE and super yummy.

OMO, love your fruit bowl, can you remember where you got it from?:D
